Chuck Martin must have read your post about not offering enough defensive backs, although they do have 4 commits already.

Atkinson, Brown, and Hardy. Who is the fourth? Either way, I'd like to see as many as six DB commits and with 2+ monsters. Hardy is the only four-star guy. Atkinson is a project and Brown wasn't highly touted.

Dorian Grant come to South Bend. :D

Eric Bieniemy, a candidate for the Colorado job, wants Tony Alford to be his offensive coordinator. I guess they had to submit a potential staff with them upon application. That would be a huge loss for Notre Dame, he is a fantastic coach and recruiter.

My goodness, I can still remember Bieniemy playing for Colorado. I feel old now.

That would suck to lose Alford, but he has said his goal was to become a head coach. It would make sense for him to take the OC job, just sucks it would be at a program in shambles like Colorado and would be for a first time head coach.

Colorado has offered the job to Jon Embree. CU is hopeful he accepts and then hires Bieniemy as offensive coordinator.

Whatever keeps Alford in South Bend. I'd make him "Associate Head Coach" or something silly like Tressel does with Hazel (oh God, more OSU comparisons :D ).

Reports out of South Carolina that QB Everett Golson has switched his commitment from North Carolina to Notre Dame.

Jackpot!

This kid could start day one, since he is doing early enrollment (though I wouldn't bet on it). He will be a monster. Crist's days were already numbered, but he now has competition from a quarterback who can move.

I will definitely be traveling to the spring game to see these youngsters in action.

Notre Dame's class is now ranked #10 on Scout. We were like #3 before the decommitments, and were like #16 on Rivals. Golson was a huge boost to get back into the top ten.

People on the interwebz seem to think his commitment will trigger a slew of them. We can only hope.

Interesting tidbit about Notre Dame/USC after Todd McShay wondered on Sportscenter if anyone in the country knew who won the game:
Correct me if I'm wrong, @MikeHumesESPN but this is news u may wanna share w/ @McShay13 Sat's ABC coll fb got 2nd highest rating of year (6.9 million viewers) of ABC in that slot, and ND-USC was in 48% of markets. Only Sat. that did better? U guessed it, Sept. 18, when ND-MSU was in 46% of markets. Not whether Irish deserve it, but about fact that ppl will tune in to see them. So, yes, Todd, I think people did know who won the ND-USC game.

The highlight video in this article is amazing. The kid has a real strong arm. I love the pump fakes. Looks like a good get!

hahaha fuck Todd McShay.

I lurk on ndnation.com, irishenvy.com, and domerdomain.com. But espn.com has plenty of articles, plus there's always google. I probably spend way too much time reading about Notre Dame than I should. Already getting pumped for December 8, Notre Dame vs. Kentucky. A win would be soooo sweet.

His touchdown:interception ration is just dumbfounding. 22-1 this season (because of injury), 47-3 last season. 44-10 as a sophomore, and 35-11 as a freshman. SWEET LORD.

He had offers from Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Stanford, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia Tech. This kid was very highly sought after.

LOL @ Scout and Rivals rating him with three-stars. If those schools offer, he's an upper echelon four-star player.

hmm 4 star CB Albert Louis-Jean decommitted from the U today. He has an offer from Notre Dame. What are the chances Kelly and whoever handles the Northeast are planning to make a visit tonight or tomorrow?

I had heard they had talked to him earlier in the week but he said he wasn't interested. That's nothing Tony Alford cannot fix. :) But in all seriousness I think he's heading to Boston College.

Brian Kelly had another home visit with Christian French. That's either good, or really bad.

Bob Diaco and Tim Hinto had a home visit with Savon Huggins...apparently again? Odd.

I guess my updated top five is:

1- Christian French - 12/9 announcement
2- Savon Huggins - NSD announcement
3- Ishaq Williams - OV 12/8, 1/11 announcement
4- Brennen Scarlett
5- Miles Shuler - OV late January

...and Notre Dame is in that list? He is a great athlete, very versatile. DE/TE/OT. I read those bastards from Compton want him at LT. Fuck them.

Miles Shuler is getting an in-home visit tomorrow from members of the coaching staff. He and Huggins are buddies, hopefully they both decide they want to be Irish. Shuler is faaaaaast.

Whatever happened to the big guy who was going to USC then took it back when they got in trouble?
