All they need to do is finish top 8???? They have rarely cracked even the top 25 since about 1994, let alone consistently.
Before you insert your foot in to your mouth (which you seem to have a habit of doing), do some research. In 2005 ND finished 6th in the final BCS rankings and landed a Fiesta Bowl bid. In 2006 they finished 10th and received an at large bid for the Sugar Bowl. They've shown they can do it, now it's a matter of consistency which is what Kelly is talking about.
And they had a powderpuff schedule only to play against the Big Boys of CFB and get BLOWN out.
Let's face it man, I'm not even an ND hater, but they are terrible. I can't believe there are still ND fans that try to trumpet ND's recent success, you have a bowl win against a depleted Hawaii team, that is your greatest accomplishment in the past 20 years, besides a "close loss to USC".
So from what you and sling are saying.....getting stomped in a BCS Bowl is proof that a team had a powderpuff schedule, couldn't run with the big dogs that year and they must also be overrated. Hmmmm.......I guess you can apply that to some other programs a few years back as well........
And you're a Notre Dame hater and you know it, Sleeper. At least refer to yourself as what you are.....a hater and a filthy little troll. Sure, ND hasn't been very good for the better part of the last 15 years but most if not all of us ND fans on here admit that. So then, you're repeating the same shit over and over again to be a troll. You're our version of that Al Capone moron who shits all over every Cleveland thread. I mean, I hate Cleveland but seeing his bullshit trolling to piss people off on there is ridiculous. Just because you hate a team doesn't mean you have to troll.
And don't try to tell me that you're just speaking the truth. You're not 100% accurate to begin with. You're just being a troll.....and you know it.
ND's biggest win of the last 20 years....probably the win over #1 Florida State in 1993. The 2 Cotton Bowl wins over A&M in the early 90's when they were a top 10/top 15 program and that Bowl was more prestgious weren't too shabby either. And the Sugar Bowl win over Florida back then. Definitely have to go back to the early 90's to find the best wins....but that is still in the last 20 years so let's keep it factual.
However, none of that makes up for ND's recent failures. ND hasn't been a fixture in the top 25 for some time now as they've finished the season unranked several times in the last 15 years. Brian Kelly has his work cut out for him. He is a proven winner as a Head Coach at the college level so that is obviously a good thing.
I do hope that ND and Michigan continue the rivalry in the future.
