Sportstalk... I have been waiting to hear from you, didn't you used to be on the old huddle and were an avid chanel fan? How is the team this year, I didn't get a chance to see them, I know they are young and have a decent guard, anything else?

As for the games tonight, I don't expect to see too many offensive sets,or any defense for that matter, but probably two more blowouts... Will we see a good first round game? Also, as for tomorrows two games, Rittman is the 7 seed while open door is the 5 seed, Richmond heights is the 1 seed while Chanel is the 6 seed, will either game be considered an upset? Too me if i was a bookie, chanel and Rittman would probably be favored in tomorrow nights games i would think... any thoughts on this

You can find Rittman's schedule here: http://www.ohiobasketball.net/wooster/waynecountyathleticleague.aspx

They have been somewhat up-and-down, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them pull off the "upset".

I actually have them picked to get to probably at least the district semi-final and wouldn't be suprised to see them in the district final, I was just wondering if anyone really thought it would be an "upset" if they beat Open Door, just as I don't really think it is an upset if Chanel beats Richmond Heights

Thanks for the schedule Pit.. I was gathering all my info for all these teams off of Maxpreps before the tournament, next year I will look for the site you provided me for some help. Looking at their schedule, I mentioned before on this thread, they do play a tougher schedule than most teams in this sectional/district, I see they lost 6 of their last 10, but they did play some quality opponents in their last 10 games though too.

Dalton vs. Kingsway on Saturday at 11:30
Kingsway Christian from Orrville/Dalton area?
Yes.

http://brackets.digitalschoolnetwork.net/bracket.aspx?not=14&t=1101&ts=2386
Kingsway is off Route 30 at Carr Road exit, about 4 miles south of Orrville and 4 miles west of Dalton. Andrew Lowe the leading scorer in the area lives in Orrville.

Here were some teams from Kingsway's schedule... It's no wonder he's the leading scorer in the area:
Norwayne
Lake Center Christian School (x2)
Kidron Central Christian (x2)
Heritage Christian
Wilmot Faith Christian Academy (x2)
Chippewa
Lake Ridge Academy
Mansfield Temple Christian
North Eaton Christian Community
Massillon Christian

mooseknuckle - I don't thnk either of those games you mentioned would be an upset at all - I actually think chanel has a very good chance of winning (they obviously think so). I also think rittman will beat open door, their record is not as good, but rittman played a much tougher schedule and played some good teams very tough. I am expecting a dalton - chanel and cuy heights - rittman district semi which would be a couple pretty good games IMO.

I saw Dalton play last night for the first time. From their physical presence, I thought, How in the world did they win their league? But in watching them I saw great teamwork, skills, tenacity, decision making. And then I saw the same thing from the younger players in clean-up time. Kudos to coach Stutz! Saw Cuy. Hts. in the night-cap. They also looked solid, players filled roles well. Can certainly see these two making it to the finals.

you are right about that - their size scares noone, but if they take care of the ball they are tough to beat - they play very good defense and use the strengths they have well. (very similar to how they were in football, actually)

Who won the games last night?

Cuyahoga Heights has a couple nice sized kids, but with D'Orazio gone, their size took a hit. They have a big 6'4 kid that I believe comes off the bench, other than that Dalton measures up similar.

After watching three days of blowouts, might actually get to see some decent basketball tonight
First game
Rittman vs. Open Door
Second Game
Chanel vs. Richmond Heights

Both could turn into blow outs, but both could also be good games... any thoughts out there?

Moose, Yeah that is me from the huddle. I am still a Chanel supporter. I was just stirring the pot to get to som e of the Firebirds. Take that 25 point comment witha grain of salt. Just adding fuel to the fire. The birds are still coached by a stubborn old man over the hill. :P

should be a very interesting game Saturday - rittman vs lutheran east. Theoretically, dalton and cuy hts should win barring anything unforseen happening. What is the sccop on LE?

Athletic would be a great way to describe Lutheran East, should be a good game, I think Rittman will have to keep them out of the paint and off the boards to win. With that said I believe Rittman pulls this one out, with hard work and defense out playing athleticism. I think the MLK Cuyahoga Hghts game will be a good one also. Going into the tourney I picked MLK as my sleeper team and could see them winning, but I think Dalton cruises in the early game

LE is always athletic but I agree, rittman wins. Dalton should win - lowe is good, but I don't think Kingsway has much else. Next week it should get very interesting.

dalton wins over kingsway by 35 or so. Now things get much tougher with Chanel coming on Tuesday. The winner gets cuy hts, lutheran east or rittman. I would be curious to hear how people think dalton and chanel matchup (i have not seen chanel). I expect a long athletic team (although young I have heard).
