Distraction for whom?

Ya know.......Im not a fan of the theatrics of Chad Johson at all. Dont really like the self promoters in sports. When Bettis was with the steelers I didnt really like his "three yard shuffle" he did often and such like that. Scoring a TD and doin something minor isnt bad but CJ and his antics arent what I really like.

With that said.....he isnt getting in trouble with the law. He isnt getting penalties for them. He is a good player so I dont think Boomer is correct in that they should get rid of him

Boomer has something personal against Chad... He may have been a distraction in '08, but he showed a ton of maturity this past season. Not to mention he is the only thing that resembles a threat on the outside. Chad is a goofball and a self promoter, but he's harmless and he wants to win... Even at the expense of his numbers. Boomer needs to shut up, because the guy isn't as close to the situation as he was at one time.

This comment is relevant in the fact that Boomer Esiason is the most beloved Bengal of all time in Cincinnati. He is only a notch or two below the upper echolon of athlete who played in the city reserved for Pete Rose What he has to say carries a lot of weight in the city.

But it shouldn't... He is not around the team, and obviously Chad wasn't enough of a distraction to stop a 4-11 to 10-6 turn around. What Boomer and Pete Rose have to say should be taken with a grain of salt, just like Oscar Robertson and UC basketball. The Bengals were the definition of team this past season and Chad was a big part of that... Boomer's just upset that his comments about Chad after the '08 season didn't come through... Chad and the Bengals proved him wrong and now he's being personal with his comments.

I don't really see how Ochocinco is that big of a distraction.

Boomer is a clown... I respect what he's done for the Bengals organization but he needs to get off his high horse and get over it. The Bengals organization loves Ocho he isn't going anywhere.

I agree that if the Bengals had stunk this year, Chad was getting penalties and his coaches/teammates were calling him out, it would be time to can him.

However, they made the playoffs, Chad wasn't hurting the team (he made the Pro Bowl) and it's never his teammates who say he's the distraction.

Therefore, why get rid of him?

We'll see how you like him next year when the Bungals are back at 4-11.

With the Bengals defense built to be very good long-term, I don't see them winning only 4 games. If they do, there will be other heads rolling besides Chad's.

What I am talking about happened this prior season. When they went 9-7 or whatever, while losing to Browns, Raiders, CHiefs, and Bears. So maybe there were too many distractions.

LMAO.......Ocho Stinko has done absolutely nothing against the Steelers over his carrer, in fact they've laid his big mouth out more than a couple of times! Another thing that's hysterical is bringing up Woodley and Ward. Woodley spoke the truth, granted, there's no escuse for not picking up another win which ensures they make the playoffs but he was accurate in his assesment and Hines was baited in to his comments by NBC as he didn't know the decision for Ben not to play was not Ben's but IN FACT the doctor's and Tomlin. Ward NEVER knew that Ben begged to play in the 11th hour before that game only to be denied.

Win a playoff game for the first time in 19 years and MAYBE, MAYBE you'll be able to mention the Bungles in the same breath as the Steelers!

Look, I could really give a rats ass about the Bungles or the rest of the AFC North. Good for you and the Bungles, keep Ocho Stinko, I'm just happy that he doesn't and never will play for the Steelers.
