the subject of freshness and PB gets overlooked a lot...I'm not proud of this skill, but I can tell the age of PB by smell...it does get gradually more rancid the longer it sits on the shelf. For that reason, even though I eat PB somewhat regularly, I usually buy the smallest jar so the freshness expires about the same time the jar gets empty. Again, i admit it is an idiosyncracy; but there you go.

the bread has to be somewhat dense...one of those high-end Brownberry-type whole grain breads; white or oat, works great.

try it with some plum jelly...for some reason that is the fave at our house with PB. or honey.

one more sammich to try...a grilled cheese with just the thinnest smear of peanut butter is real nice.

I regularly eat PB on my grilled cheese. Most people look at me like I"m a total nutcase.

I go straight cheddar. I like to temper the sharp taste with the slightly sweet and delicious PB taste.

I also like thinly sliced sweet pickles on the aforementioned sandwich. I figure the good news is that no one will ever know I'm pregnant based on my food cravings since I do that unknocked up.

Been wanting to try one of those but I can't convince anyone to go in on it with me.

Just get one yourself... and nail it! LOL
Although I can not vouch for left-over PB&J Pie... Never have had left-overs to see if it is good as "cold pizza."

I think I may have to get a personal one this weekend. Yea, I can imagine the leftovers from that wouldn't be so good but I could be wrong. I will let you know this weekend.
