Moving the entire family to southern Cali?

Not only is it odd to follow your kid to college (something I would have gone balistic over had my family followed me) but what skillset does this guy posess that he thinks he'll be able to support a family in southern Cali?

Waiting for sanction news?

News or not, there will be restrictions of SOME kind coming down the pike--I'm begining to wonder about his eligibilty
maybe they're going to "rent" the house that the Bush family lived in--and maybe Jay-Z will give Sean a recording contract... :D

Well, these are perplexing questions. I could fabricate some BS about why I think they are doing what they are but that wouldn't make them fact.

OSU in the 80's: 82-35-2
USC in the 80's: 78-36-3

I was just trying to help out as it seems you continually have a difficult time thinking objectively about anything non-OSU.

You're welcome :)
Good research Hamp.

I can remember multiple USC teams that were ranked in the top 10 during the Holz era at ND and even a #1 vs #2 matchup in 1988.
Ahh yes..one of my all-time favorite Irish games.

question--exactly what period was USC "nothing for a LONG time",and please give us your definition of "LONG"....I agree that the coach has an influence over where a recruit goes, but my point was that USC has the added advantage of it's climate and locale, and 17/18 year olds are drawn to that..sorry,but I'll try and be a little more specific next time.
After USC won their title, vs OSU in 79...they have been through multiple losing seasons along with a number of coaches. From 1990 through Carroll 1st season, USC was mediocre at best. I believe in the 90's, they had an overall record of 77-49. No so impressive. Google it.
And still USC ranks 7th all time in winning percentage with a .706. It's not like they are some "flash in the pan" success. Recent success AND history are on there side - very tough to top that right now no matter how you try to spin it.

They may have tradition and history on their side, but IMO the 2009 season may have been a sign of things to come for SC. They're losing the guy who took them through one of the best runs in college football history, preparing for possible NCAA discipline, welcoming a repeated NCAA rulebreaker who has yet to prove himself as a head coach, losing a few offensive playmakers, and coming off a subpar 9-4 season.

The fact that they're still recruiting like crazy tells you that the "intangibles" like location, weather, etc. play huge factors in these kids' minds. Unfortunately for OSU, Papa Henderson seems to care more about those things than a boring education and his son is following suit.
It's not as if USC is a bad educational institution, they're ranked higher than OSU in that department.

Didn't say they were bad, just that "12 minutes from Hollywood" seemed to be brought up more than a quality education.

Too bad he was quoted today saying Miami is his #2 and Ohio State never was his #2

Hope those hearings swing Miami's way and we'll have a great O Line class.

If he texted his coach "MIAMI" just minutes before he committed, then why the hell did he commit to USC? Or better yet, why did he commit at all? Looks more and more like his dad made the decision for him.

It appears that Miami was indeed his #2 choice according to the info in that link, but he really did say on signing day that it was between OSU and USC. Maybe he was misquoted, misunderstood, or whatever. Anyway, it's obvious that the kid should have postponed his decision, waited until he knew for sure where he wanted to go, and then select that school. This is a circus.

It would have been nice to have him in Columbus because he's most likely going to be a great player. That's not happening, but I'll still be interested to see if he sticks with USC or goes elsewhere.

The general consensus is that this kid, in all likelihood, will be a great player or has the talent to be a great player. While I would have loved to see him as a Buckeye, this thing about not being academically qualified before signing a LOI, really bothers me.

This kid has probably been told from day one how great he is and how much money he's going to make in the NFL. I also wouldn't be surprised if Dad has been the biggest culprit of the whole damn thing. However, there is responsibility on Seantrel's part to do whatever he has to so that he can have the ACT score he needs before he signs an LOI. This preparation should have started 2 years ago, and to not make it happen screams "immaturity" :P in my book.

Give me a kid that wants to be a Buckeye, gets his grades/scores in order any day over one who turns his signing into a circus while he's still not qualified to go to that particular school.

The NCAA should make a rule that no LOI can be signed unless you are qualified for that particular school. That would stop this media driven goat fuck.

Too bad the U is getting stomped on Sept. 11th no matter where he goes ;)

He did tell Lemming on Feb 3rd that OSU came in 2nd- but I think we all know he's not coming to Columbus.

Miami is a good team, but I don't think they're much faster than Oregon. Plus, your qb play wouldn't intimidate the girl scouts.

^^^^ Really? Its college football. There is nobody left on either team who played in 2002. You can't even make that comparison.

The huddler who mentioned Wisconsin is right on the money lol. How do you expect to beat OSU when you got beat by WISKY?

Haha yeah, thats what I guess that's what I meant. If Wisconsin's defense did that much to him, I could only imagine how much OSU's d could do to him...We'll see this year!

Ytowngirl=owned on this thread. That's what you get when a girl tries to talk football. She regurgitates what she hears the talking heads say. "Miami and team speed" "Buckeyes are slow" yada yada yada. Stick to playing with Barbies and My Little Pony little girl. Football is a man's sport that you'll never understand! ;)
