Texas. With as many athletes as Texas has, and successfully recruits every single year, they normally fall apart at some point in the year.
You would have to define fall apart, because I completely disagree. They've won 10+ games 9 straight years, and have 3 BCS wins, 2 NC appearances, and a national title in the last 6 years.
All relative to the talent you have. Texas has arguably the best HS football in the land and the longhorns own the area. They are also prominent enough to pick players from around the country. Notre Dame has less talent and play a harder schedule being independent.
Since Mack Brown has been there, they average 10-2. Sounds good until you look at the elite players they pull in every year and anything short of a national title appearance is a let down. Texas had plenty of talent even before Brown. They have won 1 title in, what, the last 40 years now?
Mack Brown's piss poor coaching nearly lost Texas a chance to even play for the title this year. He was completely unaware of the time when there was :06 seconds left and he runs a roll-out pass play in the B12 title game.
I feel like Texas is armed to the teeth every season but always find a way to stumble along the way.
