I met ONE girl online. She was from a town about 20 miles away. Met her out for lunch, she showed up with one of her 5 kids, we ate lunch and went back to my house. She put the cartoon channel on and pulled me into the bathroom where I railed her to her liking then they went home. I didn't answer my phone after that... Cheap and fun hooker, but not the type of girl I want to settle down with.

Had a NSA weekend here weekend there relationship with a girl in Indy when in college. Also, had an amazing experience of meeting a girl in a chat room that ended up being a stripper that said she used the net because it let her get to know people without them knowing what she did, or what she looked like. That was an amazing few months! Add in one or two more, and the online scene was very good to me in the late 90's.

Iv'e met a few-some have become good friends. Was poised to meet a certain female huddler one time.....and she backed out......I'm still disappointed in that one...:D

I've met some huddlers...
I've gone and met some chick's whom I knew from a MMORPG(Not WoW).
Then I also have a really good story about a chick I met who randomly IM'ed me but I don't feel like posting it right now haha.

So I've pretty much made a living in the online dating world, but I'll probably save most of my stories for the book. It is tentatively titled, "eMockery".

Two really nice things for me - I could meet women from other places (great reason to roadtrip) and I'm better at regular conversation than trying to "pick up" someone. The forum is a nice, non-threatening way to work your way in. Once I started traveling for work, it was a major plus because I could scout out a particular location a few weeks in advance so I already knew people before I got to town - all the preliminary bullshit was out of the way.

Of course.........there were the small matters of a near death experience (and finding out later that this chic also once tried to kill her ex-husband) and pressing charges over a stolen credit card.

Myspace did lead me to my current wife, though. We had actually worked at the same place a few years earlier but never really talked. My brother, who didn't know her, sent her a message on Myspace and while trying to figure out who he was, she came across my profile and sent me a message. Was bored one night a couple weeks later, ended up chatting with her and being invited to her place, and for better or worse the rest is history.

I nearly did from an online dating site a decade or so ago. Thing is, I'd eMet her and chatted with her while drunk one night. She sent me a couple of pics and I'm like, "Shitz yeah, I'm tappin' that!", so we set up an encounter for the next night at some random place (she lived somewhere like an hour or two from me and her house was out due to being married).

The next day, I get on my computer and look at her pics again and am like...."Whoa! She's kinda fugly! Beer goggles must have REALLY been working last night.", so I no-showed.

Had a couple of other prospects during that time. One was promising, but hooked up with a non-online guy before anything could happen. And in emailing the second once, I called her the first one's name...and for some reason, she never responded.

When I was separated from my ex working towards the divorce, I thought about trying it again, but found out that as time went on, the fine folks at AdultFriendFinder realized that it was possible to actually connect with people without spending a monthly fee for "silver" or "gold" status (you just could only email like 5 a day), so they changed it to where you had to be "silver" to do anything more than have an account. So I said to hell with that.

I do know it's a bad sign when the best pics you get are of her private areas, but the other pics are from strange angles or really close up shots of her face.

With the one I no-showed, that was exactly what happened. Pic 1 was her on her back with her fingers down around lips #2. Couldn't see her face. All was good. Pic 2 was a normal shot of her posing for the camera. I was like..."Whoa...and I'm going to be driving 90 minutes FOR THIS?!?!? No...no way..."

:s That would have been an interesting twist to the story.

Sad thing is that I STILL feel mild annoyance over that one just due to the time I spent eWooing that chick. "Sweet nothing" emails and hell, I even spoke to her on the phone a couple times. I'm a lazy, lazy man, so when I put any effort into anything and don't succeed, I feel like I was ripped off.

This is really interesting. I actually think it allows some people to be themselves more than anything else. For example, if you go to a bar looking to pick someone up, you are more or less playing a game. Some people put on a show and some people hide in the corner. Neither of those acts may necessarily reflect the true character of a person. Without that face-to-face interaction initially and knowing that both parties are on a particular site specifically to meet people, some of the pressure is taken off. The fear of rejection as well as the feeling when you are actually rejected is much less of a factor when somebody just stops emailing you as opposed to what could happen if you were in a public place and are shot down. The other thing that compliments the process is that you are often times basically taking applications yourself - I regularly had five, ten, twenty correspondences going at a time because I didn't have to pick a target, so-to-speak.

Met my current gf on eHarmony. I was pretty torn up over splitting up with a girl I dated for the better part of 5-6 years. I tried meeting people at the bar but ended up meeting some pretty shady people (I drew the line with the girl running out to her car ever hour or 2 to get high). Figured I would give eHarmony a shot as my cousin and one of his friends met their future wives off of there. So far I have been with my gf since November and joining the site has been one of the better decisions I've made.

I have met several huddlers.....fab4 broke my Emeeting cherry.

I am like gerb...in that I wouldn't date someone I met online....just not my cup of tea.(although I would make an exception for mexappeal......love to motorboat that mexy broad)

Angel and I met over on the paypay site. We've been seeing each other for a little while now and it's been awesome as our relationship continues to grow. With the male to female ratio over there, I feel like I've won life's lottery! She is a beautiful and an amazing woman (and she even kind of likes me too!).

Never ever thought I'd meet a BF on the internet. It wasn't the reason that I joined the site that Apple refers to, however, it sure was fun meeting him and we definately get along very well.

See, now I feel bad.....

Apple is the most caring, thoughtful, romantic, and fun man that I have ever met. We are planning several trips together in 2010, so, yes, we're there. He knows that and now you all know that. :)

It's not easy for me to say those kind of things on an internet message board where the maturity level of most of the posters is 15 years of age. :D
