Ok, maybe I wasnt listening close enough, but I thought he said, "Just got back from Haiti. MUCH LIKE with the tsunami, we built a ton of houses." I know he did that for the people over in Asia when the tsunami hit there.
That wasnt verbatim, and again, I wasnt listening that close. But I thought I heard that.

Meh. Simple slip. He was discussing what he did in Thailand after the Tsunami, and then started to talk about Haiti.
Out of context it seems bad, but when you look at the whole of the conversation, it's really not that shocking/jaw dropping.

A simple mistake, taken into context, he was talking about the work he did in Thailand with the Tsunami and simply said the wrong thing, happens all the time.
He obviously doesn't think that a tsunami hit Haiti.
P.S., you seem way too excited about "sticking" it to Ricky Martin.

Not to mention, I don't know if THIS is the example to attempt to make of "Dumb celebrity that doesn't know what's going on in the world"....his music sucks, but Martin has done a lot of good work. And isn't usually one to toot his own horn about it, either.

"Sticking" it to him in this thread allows him to more easily imagine "sticking" it to him in real life.

I'm taking donations to help Haiti recoop from Ricky Martin.
while i agree it was a slip and nothing was meant by it, he still said it. thus vdubb while overreacting, was correct.

At least give him credit for doing something to help these people. That's a lot more than what most of us have done.

I feel bad for the people of Haiti, don't get me wrong. But seriously, What about New Orleans? There are still a TON of people that have no homes, and parts of the city are still in ruins... All across this country there are families that are struggling just to stay afloat, many of them in jeopardy of losing their homes while they are just trying to keep a roof over their children's heads. I'm sorry, but I am sick of hearing about Haiti. All these telethons with "superstars" asking to give to these people when we here at home are financially broke. I just love how all these singers donate 50 thousand dollars or 100 thousand dollars... Thats like a "normal blue collar worker" donating 100 bucks. If they want to seriously get on TV and spew about how other can give, why don't THEY reach a bit deeper in their pockets and give? They are the ones with millions. Should Justin Timberlake buy a new 750,000 dollar Bentley or should he practice what he preaches and give that money to the needy? Sorry, this crap just has me fired up... I am willing to do my part and help as much as I can, but seriously... These "stars" need to wake up. You make the bucks... DONATE IT if you are so heartbroken. Until then, don't go on TV and ask people to do what they think is right. Wonder how many of them were paid to do the telethon? He's a suggestion, maybe Justin Timberlake could reach out to a family here in the states that is in danger of loosing their house or perhaps just lost it because the family provider lost their job. Now that would impress me... Helping a random person who has children with nowhere to go here in the U.S.

I was simply making a joke out of a gaffe!!! I could give two shits about Ricky Martin, just thought it was funny that he said "tsunami" when in fact it was an "earthquake". People on here jump to deffend way to much. RELAX, it's not serious business on here all the time!!!
