Scout is now listing that Howard has committed to the University of Akron. A story in the Akron Beacon-Journal states that he still might explore other options by next Wednesday. Open enrollment at the U of A might have played a factor in his decision.

Surprisingly the Akron fans on their board (Zipsnation.org) are less than thrilled about getting Howard and most don't think he will ever see the field. I thought all Zips would be pumped about the new coach getting a 4*, 2-time Mr. Ohio running back.

I wish he would sign at Kent State. We'll take him!

From his point of view, Toledo would be the best choice. The new (last year) head coach is doing some good recruiting, and I expect UT to be in the Top 25 within a couple of years.

I think Howard is a nice fit for a MAC school, he is a tough kid, with ability. I see potential there.
