I was out at a life testing machine today changing the program since they added new proportional valves, and the manager of said department sees me and stops by to talk and says " did "so and so" ever schedule a meeting with you to discuss bringing equipment from Colmar (France) to our life testing lab". I told him no, I hadn't heard anything. He proceeds to tell me "oh really... b/c we ordered several machines to be brought here". I asked if there was an order number to change all the motors and electronics on the machines since Colmar is 380V 50Hz and the manager said .. "I told him to check with you to see if they would run over here."

Well he didn't.. b/c hes an operator who knows everything cuz he's been here for 30 years and he doesn't need to ask some "kid who has been here for a couple years".
Well now there's a lot of wasted money in shipping and wasted capital all b/c of the same mantra that we hear on here from tusky and others about salary workers.

Another typical Zwick thread.

You would think in a corporation filled with such incompetence, an Illuminati such as Zwick would have no problem climbing the corporate ladder.

Unfortunately, he's stuck in middle management :( Where average people go to die :(

Or I could just do a typical thread about drugs but get my stories confused like you and in one breath say you take drugs cuz u don't care to, or plan on living till 30... then in the next say you're quitting b/c you had a "scary incident" with them.. maybe u should add ginseng with those drugs to help u remember ur stories homey.

God damn right I quit drugs, because I've done enough to kill an entire fleet of police horses in my lifetime. Hopefully, I will still be dead before I'm 30. It probably just won't be on an overdose from mid-grade heroin as I had originally hoped.

You, on the other hand, will continue to wallow away in middle management, for a corporation that is apparently filled with idiots (probably why you got hired), working a job that you evidently hate.

No wonder you gave up your visions of grandeur and you're getting wifed up and letting your girlfriend trick you into buying fag dogs.

You're an average guy with an average life.

Nothing more nothing less.

I've never seen American Beauty, so I wouldn't know.

It just appears to me, that given all of Zwick's internet boasting, he's a pretty average guy working in middle management who hates his job. Given how he sees himself, compared to what he actually is, I am willing to bet dollars to donuts that this is a source of great cognitive dissonance in his life.

I wish I could interview a young Zwick.

"What do you want to be when you grow up, little buddy?"

Do you think "Middle management at a corporation full of idiots" would be his response? Or that he would need an internet forum to use engineering jargon like "Colmar is 380V 50Hz " and vindicate just how awesome he is?

I doubt it.

And Zwick, for the record, this is the part of the post where you say that my mom pays my cell phone bill, I don't own a computer, and that I used to drugs, or my belief that I'll be dead before I'm 30.

I suggest using words like "kid" and "real life."

Yeah, us engineers don't know jack.

Last I checked, Z4P isn't in "middle management", but I could be wrong.

Sage you can talk about my average life when you grow up and quit being a sponge.. that makes you well below average. Basically... ur not on my level in any way and prolly never will be so I'm not even sure why ur questioning me.

Someone notify me when Sage claims he starts taking drugs again... the stories are at least a good read.

And jmog, I'm not middle management. I filled in on a temp basis (? 7 months) when my original boss was laid off, till my original bosses boss took over and eliminated a layer. I still have to handle the contractors scheduling and pay, and designate the work flow in our department (assigning jobs).. but that's a whole nother issue I'm not getting into.

Why.. it's not like anyone thinks it's actual grammar. I'll assume you use no expressions?

Management...one direction I DEFINITELY don't want to go...I'll stick to the nerdy research crap.

Work flow, time sheets, blah blah blah...I didn't become an engineer to do that crap :)

No offense to anyone who does of course, but if I wanted to be a manager I would have taken the easier route and got a business degree instead of an engineering degree.

Research>Management.

I'll admit, Zwick seems like a douche at times with all his "women" threads, acts like an 8th grader who just touched his first boob and has to brag about it to everyone, and generally just comes across as an ass/tool/a person from the Jersey Shore.

But, he doesn't deserve the hate he is getting for these types of threads.

I mean, isn't this the point of a message board though? To share your thoughts and things throughout the day? A person that comes on here and talks about prayers needed is just as retarded as one of these threads

My pet peeve is the term "pet peeve". Because if something peeves me, I wouldn't keep it as a pet. In a perfect world, I'd just splatter its brains on the wall...but I have to resist that temptation because I'm too pretty for jail.

This thread was not nearly as boring as I expected. I expected talk that was "over my head", but thankfully it is pretty juvenile.....which is right up my alley.

My pet peeve is the word "totes".....completely gay and retarded.

Agreed. If I am a Controls Engineer the rest of my life, I'll be perfectly happy. There's a huge satisfaction in taking an extended period of time and Engineering a machine or whole line from scratch, to programming it to work automatically, and seeing the whole thing operational. There's no satisfaction in sitting in budget meeting and making charts to justify your groups existence.

Well, I'll be damned! I didn't even realize that this was a week-old thread brought up. Probably because with the exception of the original post, no one gave a damn about it until you brought it back.
