lol. well this is a good place to start.

once you upgrade you'll have an option to "scan group barcode" if you go to page 2 of this thread you'll see I posted a barcode, scan it, and you'll be in. It's a neat feature you'll really like.

Also, for anyone who wants to fix notification problems:

Go to edit sound profiles, which ever profile you use open it and there is an option for instant messages, open it, you'll see BBM Group Alerts. You can adjust there. If you use more than one profile, then you'll have to adjust for all of them.

Another thing to notice: In the group click the BB button and click group details, there you have options to "Save Pictures" the suggestions are media card, device memory, or none. I suggest none. No reason to save all those pics.

Also you have option for integration, I do chat only. Calendar and pictures and lists etc really have no reason in the messages folder for this group ;)

Hope this helps!

Can one of you all tell me the difference in the 2 BB data plans from Verizon??

I'm looking to upgrade from my Dare here soon and looking at the Storm 2. I want to be able to use the internet and email without having to pay, outside of the data plan.

Email and Web for BB's for $29.99
or
BB Solution Unlimited Data Usage for $44.99

Neither description makes sense to me...lol

The difference is the second one you get Blackberry Exchange Service I believe. I doubt you will need that. The Email and Web has unlimited internet/email/BBM included.

Here's a few things we've talked about in the group. basically it's tips and tricks to help the phones run better:

1) Download and set Quickpull. You can get it from app world. It will simulate a battery pull(the best way to reboot your phone). The free version will allow you to set a time daily for it to reboot itself. I have mine set for 3:45 am. Also, you can set it to warn you when the memory drops below a certain number(mine is set for 15).

2) A little tip is to delete your texts messages from time to time. It will speed them up. Also, delete the chats you have in groups from time to time. Again this will speed up the opening and input of text.

3) Memory cleaner. Options > Security Options > Advanced Security Options > Memory Cleaning. Enable it. I clean it manually. It'll give you an option on the home screen to do it.

4) Clear Browser cache. Go to your browser go to options > cache operations > clear history, clear pushed content, clear cookies.

Also, if you use another browser clear the history in it.

5) Event Log. In 5.0 there's suppose to not work very well. For the keyboard hold alt + LGLG i believe if you're on a touchscreen it's ?!123 then ;/;/ or something. I access it through an app called QuickLaunch.

6) another little trick is to try and limit the number of icons on your home page. I have 12 currently. that's about it.

7) Also, make sure you don't keep programs running when you're not using them bb button > close or exit

I'm sure there's other shit I'm forgetting but it's late.

So go to "Sounds"... Edit Profiles...Select a profile.... Expand Instant messages.... Select Blackberry Messenger Groups...and then what?

Change Volume to silent?
LED is light right? So turn that off too?
Vibration off?

I don't even want to see like the little asterisk or notification at all. I just want my screen to be "normal" and then "Oh... I think I wanna check out the group page... Oh! There are some new posts/whatever"

No astericks... no notifications at the top of the screen... no flashing red light... etc.

Well you can do all of that except for the on screen star notifier I believe.

You could just move BBM into a folder and off your homescreen. But you would still see a symbol.

I don't think you can get rid of the asterick.
