Hell, Chris Peterson from Boise State has had a better resume than Tressel the past few years on the national scene. If you asked neutral fans who follow the college football world who they would rather have coach their team, I'm sure more would go for Peterson than Tressel.

I thought maybe I could come on here and read some posts. I always had to stay out of the college forum over on the huddle cause of all the hate for OSU from our own fans. I come on here with high expectations and will leave with the same ol' feeling.

Thats like saying the saints should fire their coach and go get Bill Cowher becuase he has had more success. There is always going to be other good coaches and Tressel is one of them. The grass is always greener though and the backup Qb should always be starting.

Do I want to get in this debate? How old are you? I'm not kidding, if you're in your young 20's I might give up. Anyone that has watched OSU for any meaningful time knows how great its been the last decade.

I don't know how anyone that has followed the program can't be pleased about its state in the college football arena. If you're a virgin-ish teenager I can see how USC is more "kewl" or Oregon has "tight" uniforms, but OSU has owned this decade.

The beginning of the past decade was great. Tressel was doing his impression of a competent football coach and fans loved it. But its not 2006 anymore. Until that Florida game, I don't think you could have had a conversation with a college football fan about the best coaches in college football and Tressels name not being the first or second name mentioned. But he has completely lost it since then, and its not looking like he is going to find it as the game continues to change. Talent is more spread out...offenses are more diverse...Its harder to depend on special teams and defense to win you games against teams that have comparable talent. youve seen the results.

By the way, Oregon has the ugliest uniforms of all time. Those little duck wings on them make me want to hurl.

Really? Peterson is a pathetic choice? His team has maybe half the talent OSU's does, yet he has beaten Oregon (twice!) and OU in the past three years...all of which are bigger wins than any that Tressel has in that time frame.

Tressel has also lost key members of his staff since the early 2000's. We need a new OC but who do you want to give the credit to for OSU using three new LB's this year and having no drop off after having all three drafted last year. Who gets the credit for turning a rather middle of the road dline last year into the top unit this year. Who gets credit for Pryor choosing OSU and having better stats then Vince Young through two seasons.

Next year If we lose to pretty much anyone i will be as dissapoointed as you all are but, for this year i will take a big 10 championship another win over UM and another BCS birth and we stil have the chance to finish top 5 if we win out bowl game after a year where we lost so many starters.

Yes, I remember the Cooper days...they weren't a lot of fun, but comparing the Cooper days to the present is apples and oranges because the landscape of college football has changed so much. A more apt comparison is Tressel pre-2006 and Tressel post-2006. Tressel has already peaked at OSU, we are going to continue to do what we've been doing the past two-three years...winning a big ten that is no longer competitive (seriously, look it up, nearly every team in the Big Ten loses to a lower tier MAC team or a FCS team at some point in time during the season). Tressel will continue to make a living beating the teams he should beat (most of the time...looking at you, purdue), while losing to teams that have as much talent or more talent than OSU. Its funny you name Texas, Bama, LSU, and USC. Us OSU fans regard ourselves as being on the same tier as all of them, yet we are a combined 0-4 against them in the past three years by a whopping differential of 115-63. But hey, if your content with that, there is nothing I'm going to say thats going to change your mind.
