McAfee on mom's computer came up saying there was an Artemis! Trojan on it. Searched for where the file was said to be and nothing. Ever since it popped up, Internet Explorer won't load any pages. The internet connection is fine as I am using our wireless connection. I've searched and searched for Artemis! info and can't really find anything. Anyone know anything??

ZERO reason to use IE. Firefox even has a plug-in to render an IE page for those websites that haven't caught up with the modern internet yet.

I get set in my ways, too. Was a late adopter of Firefox and have never had a need to even try something different. Never been a big browser officianado - I want it out of sight and out of mind.

Firefox is good, i really like Google Chrome. When you open up a new tab it shows you your 8 most visited websites and has good pop up blockers and password memory.

Even if you aren't going to use IE, you still have a virus to take care of. Download MalwareBytes from malwarebytes.org.

Update and run quick scan.

IE won't load anything therefore I can't download anything. I've tried most of the scanners like that and none seem to find anything.

Download it to a flashdrive from another computer.

Run and install it on the infected computer.

Yeah I have it on my computer and I use FireFox, I don't have any problems.

I'll probably just find the download files and put them on a flashdrive. Install both, FF and MalwareBytes on her system and see if it works.
