I remember when I first went to Yappi a few years back, the big thing was that if you were a banned Huddler there, you were part of the "Castaways Lounge" (or something along those lines).

Thanks to this past week, the Castaways have totally slapped down JJ. It's hard to have the, "You're just a handful of castaways, so who cares what you think?" attitude when you've lost a huge percent of your site's traffic. I do find it hilarious they're still constantly banning people even if, like Justin, they haven't actively done anything hostile on their site. Best way to keep a board going is to ban anyone who even pretends there are other sites on the Internet.....

There methods just seem very foolish at this point, but again with the drop in traffic I am sure they are getting a little desperate.

I had a proxy screen name that is banned for 2 weeks for posting freehuddle.com messages. Then why is my IP address blocked for doing the exact same thing with my original screen name? Not only are they liars, they are inconsistent when it comes to punishment. This was always a problem with those fuckers!

It is truly stunning how far the place has fallen within a week.

There is currently a topic on the front page of the old ST/I page dated 11/11/09 (3 days old).

There was a time topics from 3-4 hours ago would be on page 3 or 4. Now they have 3 day old topics on page 1.

Natali and Frantz are the Larry Dolan of internet website owners.

They paid way too much for the site with no real way to squeeze anymore money out of it than JJ was, but are stuck with the debt load they took on to buy the site plus the costs of running it. There was never a realistic way to monetize it to ever cover the costs of the purchase, and those guys made a severe miscalculation that probably has the noose starting to strangle them.

It is no different than how Dolan got in way over his head paying 320 million for the Tribe 10 years ago. It wasn't worth anywhere near that in reality because they were at the time sucking every single dollar of cashflow humanly imaginable out of the place. They were selling every seat out for the season, and had maximized all local revenue streams.

There was no way to tangibly increase revenue, because every source had already been tapped. So the second every seat wasn't sold out he was swimming in red ink because he payed way too much for the team. From the moment he took ownership there was no where to go but down in terms of revenue generation for the most part, and whoever advised him on the purchase price must have been advising Natali and Frantz when the Huddle aquistion went down.

Karma is a bitch though, and the hubris those 2 have shown since taking over is coming back to bite them right now as there is no bailout coming their way and they are swimming the in the deep end without a life preserver.

They should be used as an example of how to not run a business in college business schools. Idiots!
