The Pac 10 is crazy. Nobody is good. Everyone is capable of playing bad. For example, last night...

Stanford 59, Oregon State 35
California 87, Oregon 59

We kind of joked about everyone finishing within a game or 2 of each other, but at this point, it's very possible.

Great finish!!!!

Howland gets an "F" for recruiting this group. They are not up yo UCLA standards.

How many teams from the Pac 10 make it to the Tourney? I say two at the most.

Russell Westbrook, SR (left for NBA after SO year)
Chase Stanback, JR (transferred, starting at UNLV)
Kevin Love, JR (left for NBA after FR year)
Drew Gordon, SO (transferred)
Jrue Holiday, SO (left for NBA after FR year)

I'm not a Howland fan, and his 2009 class is certainly not that impressive, although Reeves Nelson is going to be a really good player. However, you have to admit he's had some serious issues keeping players around.

Imagine this team with just Gordon, Stanback and Holiday. Definitely a Pac 10 contender, if not favorite.

I appreciate the facts that he has lost players to the NBA and transfer. The fact is that this team is woefully bad and the coach deserves the blame for that. UCLA had a great 4-year run, so this is really disappointing.

I agree with that and if you have read my take on Howland I'm as critical of him as anyone. However, he can have a pass for this year IMO as this class was average and all will be here 3+ years. We will see if there is improvement next year. If not, there is cause for concern.
