So apparently I have a misdemeanor on my record. Back in 2001 while a student at Ohio University. I received a ticket for open container. I was at party, tried to cross the street to go to another party with a cup of beer in my hand and I swear the Swat team rolled in on me out of nowhere. At the time I didn't pay any attention to it but today I found out it is actually on my record.

So two questions. Anyone else a hardened criminal like myself and have a police record?

And second, How in the hell can I get this expunged from my record?

Contact a lawyer. I have no idea the cost, but, a minor dismeanor like that?!?!? Who cares?

I have known of people (not personally--through my employment) paying a lawyer to get a felony expunged.

You have to pay a fee to get something expunged. Remember though, you only get one your entire life so is it really worth wasting on something like this? I'm not saying you're planning on getting in trouble in the future, but you never know what might happen.

You need to get a hold a lawyer first... I know people have done community service to have their records cleared of minor details. Be prepared to reach in your pocket though, it ain't cheap.

Depending on why you want it expunged, getting your record sealed may be a better option, much cheaper

I should get off this board. Don't want to be associating with criminals like you.

Even if you get them expunged or whatever, be advised that it doesnt completely go away. on the surface it does but certain background checks(mainly law enforcement) can reveal it.

No longer have a record. Had one for assault. Beat the hell out of my cousin. LOL Had to go to 'mayors court' in Nelsonville. In order to get it off my record I had to take Anger Management classes. God what a waste of time that was.

I once got a ticket for DTP when I tried to bumrush a Metallica concert. It was in 2003 so I assume it's on my record still. not worried about it now, won't it go away in time?

I run background checks on a lot of people and I find some really petty things that pop up. I actually had one for fishing without a license. I thought that was pretty funny.

I got an uderage consupmtion 3 weeks before my 21st. It's only a misdemeanor so I really don't think it'll keep me out of a job in the future. even though I'm a criminal justice major.

I have been arrested once and have a misdemeanor on my record. I've got the paperwork to get it expunged, I just need to go to the courthouse to turn it in.

Let me know when you've got a felony on your record bro. Until then, you don't have a "record."

I got a couple legal troubles on there for embezzlement and illicit weapons, oddly both in the same night.

Good times.

LOL

Yeah ... felonies on your record are "cool."

Felonies NOT on your record are cooler, though.

To answer the question, my record currently has nothing on it.
