Paper textbooks.

Tube televisions/monitors of any kind.

Resistive touchscreens

The excuse "I'm not good with computers" as a reason to not do something.

The home phone line is becoming obsolete. I still think people will have home phones in addition cell phones but there isn't really a need for a hard line anymore.

Land line phones, which where mentioned, are the most immediate. Long term, Cd's are gone in within 10 yrs.

Ditched mine years ago. Between VOIP, or whatever the computer/internet integration is now, and cell adaptors that can link a portable into your service (not sure if they are quite there yet) this will be obsolete very soon. Call me lazy, but it would be nice to have a handset in every room rather than lugging the cell around the house with me.

Ultimately, the internet is going to be the pipeline for all media into and out of the home. Good-bye cable and good-bye lan line. Good-bye to music cd's and movie dvd's as we know them.

landlines will always remain because i think they are much more reliable that other methods. they always get reception and the power can be out and you can still use it.
