i personally think GCC has done a tremendous job in just five years. becoming a playoff calibar team in just five years must mean your doing something right.

10/2 Hannibal River
10/8 Fort Laramie

10/29 @Fort Frye
I really hope you are kidding. I'm not sure that I would consider that schedule "brutal".

NC most years can go 3-4 or 4-3 in the league and some years better:
Since joining the Ohio division NC's league record: 4-3, 6-1(state title year), 3-4 and 4-3...

IMHO they simply need to make sure the get points non-league and they will be fine.

09 they lost to 10-0 D4 playoff team Amanda Clearcreak but their wins over Centerburg and Fisher Catholic got them very little points...

08 they also missed the playoffs but their 3 non-league opponends won a combined 6 games...

I like their chances to win their non-league games and I think that will give them enough points to slip in to the post season even with a 3-4 league mark...
AND I think 4 or 5+ league wins isn't that unlikly...

I think NC will make it this year and I think they'll be a load once the do

With 6 playoff teams on the schedule, would "challenging" be less offensive?

I agree with you Blooze and thanks for the kind words. To take on and defeat the NC's and St Paul's of the world requires a new level for the entire program. I see what that next level looks like. We'll get there. It just takes time.

your right. we've been to the state finals once and state semis twice. once you get out of our region its a whole new ballgame.

I would think that Danville has to snap out of their tailspin soon and make it back to the playoffs.

Danville has a lot coming back and a proven successful coach. They will be much improved this year.

Buckingham, Brewer, Sloan, Miller, and McCombs are very good football players. They will need to develop some depth on the offensive line and a new leader at qb. Danville could be a major surprise in 2010. I'm glad GCC has them in week 1.
