I had a BB Pearl for quite awhile, then switched to a Pantech Matrix..which was a totally mistake.. Smartphones are the way to go for me! just curious what everyone has? likes dislikes? I think I might be going with the BB Storm.. I need something decent size for my data package..

Palm Pre ... love it. The worst thing, generally, is Sprint's coverage being spotty outside of the city ... but I'm in the city pretty much all the time, so it's not usually a big deal.

I have ATT, and this might be a dumb question, but if they are unlocked do they work just as well with ATT as they do with Verizon?

I'm pretty happy with my Tour. I thought about the Storm, but I'm really bad with the touch screens (stupid nails getting in the way). In any event, I am very glad I have with Verizon.

Oh and speaking of, I think I need to write to AT&T or something and let them know there ad about not being able to surf the Web and talk at the same time is total B.S. I experimented the other night by calling BigAppleBuckeye and then going to the Internet, and the call was not dropped. Stupid liars!

I have a first gen Storm and love it. I use data all the time and have had no problems ever. I considered an iPhone, but the coverage in the areas I travel sucks.

I love my Tour.

I loved my iPhone but AT&T's service is horrible around Bellevue.

Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus coming to verizon.... http://www.palm.com/us/products/phones/preplus/index.html?CID=GSI_G_PalmPreControl_PalmPre

I love my Palm Pre and wouldn't get a BB over the Pre. Look at it when it comes out in a few days......

I'm a big tech geek and love the Iphone also. Only thing the Iphone has over the Pre is the amount of apps. Apps are coming to the Pre at a pretty fast pace because of it being launched or about to be launched on most of the major carriers now.

The ability to do true multi tasking and run any and every app, email, calendar and just switch pages make it amazing. Web browsing on the Pre is easier with the slide out keyboard and I have downloaded a touch screen keyboard.

Check out www.precentral.net and Palm is very open with the hardware. The don't discourage the hacking/jail breaking of there phone.

Going from a smarthphone o the matrix, or any non smartphone, was your mistake. matrix was a good phone but its hard to go backwards in technology and be happy.

As for being unlocked....the ATT/Verizon thing...it wont work. Unlocked only is suuposed to work with similiar technologies. Ya can take an unloced ATT phone and use in on other GSM networks like Tmobile, Cincy Bell, and others in the like but not a verizon.

^^Not to my knowledge. Unlocked means a phone can be used on any network that uses the same technology. An unlocked Verizon phone would be Ok on the altell network. Alltell did get purchased by Verizon but I think some places had to be divested and alltel still exists.

Also other carrieres that ue their technology

My one att guy told me yesterday he was pretty sure it would work, but after browsing the net about it, seems I've read it will work, and won't work as well..so Hmm... I guess I better find out for sure before I purchase ! ; )

Iam not familiar with the storm so I cannot tell you exactly but for it to work on the ATT network it must have some way to work in GSM mode with a SIM card.

Unlocked phones can e great but can also be a pain if trying to do some things on the internet.

Ya had teh pearl.....try out the new blackberry s with ATT....the have replaecd the track ball with an optical scroll which is sweet.

Getting a Droid in next two weeks. I was a heavy iPhone fan for a while, but when the Palm Pre and Driod dropped, I started seriously looking at those two phones. The Palm Pre is nice (my sis has it), but Sprint customer service is terrible along with their network, plus the Pre is just a little too small for my liking, so I opted for the Droid.

Multi-app performance, the notification bar, the huge display, voice search and real qwerty keypad, all contributing factors into me going for the Droid. My friend has it at we got a lot of use out of the built-in navigation on our trip to Chicago in December. It amazed me because he could use the navigation feature and listen to songs on Pandora at the same time. Navigating back and forth between the two apps was a synch as well....however, it did get us lost in Gary, Indiana....not a nice place to get lost in at 10pm in the snow...Gary is like a ghost town, lol

Combine that with my 20% discount on my cell bill from Verizon...it's almost a no brainer IMO.

I use the original Storm and love it. I would suggest you get the original and not the Storm 2 unless you will use the Wi-Fi, which most people don't.

Almost all the other "features" were included in the software update for the Storm 1.

When exactly are we going to stop calling cell phones 'smartphones'?

The majority have these anyway.

the storm 2 is sooooooooooo much easier to type on. I would really suggest testing out both keyboards if possible. other than the keyboards the phones are very similiar.
