You will just be lining Wyclef's pockets. Pretty disgusting that someone with that much money would be taking charitable contributions and paying himself and his production company thousands of dollars. He paid himself $100,000 to put on a benefit concert. Why do you need to be paid to do a benefit concert for your own charity?

Exactly. This shit happens all the time. Look at how many people have made a large profit off of 9-11 and Katrina....it is very sad.

There are some people who never send cash to charities. Instead they send non perishable food items, canned goods, bottled water, clothes etc. Its a little harder for some scumbag to profit off of these types of donations. If you are going to donate cash make sure you are giving to a trusted source.

He's not doing anything the Red Cross doesn't do. I agree though that it's dirty.

Agree!
The Red Cross recieved enough money to make the families of 9-11 millionaires. Sad that so little was actually given to them.
Don't get me wrong. Alot of people donate time and effort but when the administration people are making over 6 figures it is hard for me to call them charitable. Last I heard less than half was given to these families. That was why people gave the money. Not for large salaries.

Here's a list of org's and agencies, updated daily through interaction.org that are established, and aiding, that have contact info/websites/etc. if anyone is interested in donating time/money through them.

Yup. Generally most larger charities have HUGE administrative costs (aka money to the board, to the director) and it ends up being a low % of your money that makes it to the cause. Do some research before you donate.
