This coming from an ND fan is hilarious...

TN a top program? Yeah, 15 years ago.
Yes douchebag they are a top program. Every program goes through lulls, even your beloved buckeyes. Alabama, Michigan, USC, Nebraska, Notre Dame are all elite programs that have been down over the past decade. They will be back on top. Everything goes in cycles. Do you not realize there is life outside of Columbus?
Uh, not to turn this into a ND/ OSU thread...but OSU has had an "off" year or two, here and there....but NEVER to the extent of what ND is going through and NOT close to what Bama, NEB, UM and USC went through. Over the past 50yrs, OSU maybe the most consistant big time program in the country.

Uh, well gee, I didn't say that OSU had the kind of years that ND has had the past decade did I? I said they have had their down years too, just like every other elite program. Stop being so sensitive whenever anything other than slurping OSU is posted on here.

So what's up with Norm Chow? Saw today that he hasn't even heard from USC, which means he hasn't accepted the OC job there. Did ESPN just completely fabricate that or what?

It has been scrolling across the bottom line that Chow's agent has been contacted from SC now. Not sure if his agent was just downplaying it until a deal was reached or what.

Thanks, karen. That makes sense. Guess ESPN got the scoop after all.

Surely, you can't be serious.

False. They are 0-3. And false again, they lost by two touchdowns to Ohio State, not over two touchdowns. :)

Lane Kiffin is a boss. I want some of whatever he is selling, because he has managed in 3 years to land the Raiders, Tennessee and USC jobs before the age of 35 with a career coaching record of 12-21 over that time. Talk about turning nothing into something.

As I heard said on the radio today, at the pace he is going he will be getting a call from the Patriots next year that they decided to fire Belichek to hire Kiffin.

He's a Barack Obama of coaching. A younger guy that showed a lot of potential, but hasn't done anything worth mentioning other than getting jobs (as compared to what he actually did in them).

Having a father like Monte Kiffin gets you a lot of jobs. There is no doubt it got him in the door at Southern Cal, Carroll owed Monte Kiffin so he spoke very highly of him to Al Davis. From there, Tennessee bought into it too. I'm not saying he might not be a terrific coach, but he hasn't quite earned any of the praise.

perhaps for 2 reasons...............

1. Monte Kiffen comes with the package
2. Lane's wife comes with the package

I think a commentator (I can't remember which) said it best:

"Lane Kiffin is a guy who was born on third-base, yet he acts like he just hit a triple."

I can't stand the guy. I hope USC fails and the entire program goes to hell. And that's me NOT being harsh right now. Tennessee should be glad to be rid of Kiffin.
