Monte Kiffin is one of the best defensive coaches in history. This is not good as a Notre Dame fan.
I'm hoping he implodes while at Southern Cal, and that the NCAA comes down very hard on them. The best thing that can happen now is Kyle Prater and Seantrel Henderson decide that hate Southen Cal and Lane Kiffin so much they want to go to Notre Dame to join in beating him annually.
I can dream, can't I?

Should make the Stanford-USC game very entertaining, since Kiffin will probably make Hairball his Urban Meyer of the PAC-10. Still think Newweasal at UCLA is pissed becasue there is no getting back at pete now.

Plenty of good angles for heating up rivalries:me_myself_i wrote: Should make the Stanford-USC game very entertaining, since Kiffin will probably make Hairball his Urban Meyer of the PAC-10. Still think Newweasal at UCLA is pissed becasue there is no getting back at pete now.
Kiffin v. Neuheisel
Kiffin v. Kelly
Kiffin v. Harbaugh
Maybe from my prior thread the prospect of going up against those 3 rather than just one Urban Meyer made this a much better choice...

Now it looks like Chow is heading back to USC. USC could be very good if the NCAA don't put the hammer down.

Wow. Adding Chow to the mix is huge for USC. As se-alum said, if the sanctions aren't too harsh, the program is going to be just fine.

Cowherd threw out Kiffin as a possible candidate on his show this morning and I laughed and thought he was crazy.
Guess that's why he's got his own show and I'm the one listening to it in the car.

HC - Lane Kiffin
OC - Norm Chow
DC - Monte Kiffin
That's a terrific staff. Holy shit.

I hope USC gets WHACKED by the NCAA. And they could with everything that is coming out. Add in how arrogant Kiffin is, and how much he could care less about NCAA rules...it will only be a matter of time before he breaks more NCAA rules. The NCAA will be hovering over this program like no other.ironman02 wrote: Wow. Adding Chow to the mix is huge for USC. I personally don't think this program will be fine. I think they will suffer and not be near as good as they have been. Think what you will of Carrol(I don't like him), but the guy was a hell of a coach, and hell of a recruiter. Kiffin hasn't proven anything as a head coach at any level. Don't go giving him too much credit just yet.

I hope USC gets smoked by the NCAA, for no other reason than it took so damn long for it to come to this. I doubt we'll see USC sucking ass though, maybe a down year or two, but the allure of USC still exsits, the recruits will come and the D WILL be good...don't see a huge drop off.

I hope USC gets hammered too. Losing Carroll definitely hurts also, but when looking at the state of the program, I think Kiffin will really be helped by having Chow as his OC and his Dad as the DC. You can't find cooridnators any better than that, and if Lane Kiffin is a step below Carroll, I think those two guys will compensate somewhat for that. I'm not giving Lane Kiffin too much credit as a head coach because he didn't have much success with the Raiders or Vols, but he's a good recruiter and he's surrounding himself with the right people. I hope he continues to be stupid about his recruiting methods though, gets caught, and USC gets slammed by the NCAA if it doesn't already happen with the current investigation.centralbucksfan wrote:I hope USC gets WHACKED by the NCAA. Been reading the USC Scout forum a little. Seems like most Trojan fans are NOT happy with this hire. They're glad to have quality assistants coming in with Kiffin, and expect other members of the current USC staff to be retained, but they absolutely don't like the cloud that he brings with him with regard to recruiting problems. IF USC somehow survives the current NCAA investigation without penalties, they think Kiffin may just put the icing on the cake and finish it off for them. As many of us have said on this thread, if the sanctions can be avoided, USC fans think they might still be in good shape.

That's an awesome pic. With all the crap that Kiffin started with Urban Meyer and Florida when he was hired and since then, I really thought he would stick around for a while. I don't agree that Tennessee is a steppingstone, its one of the top programs in the country and Kiffin seemed like he would be the kind of guy to get them all the way back to the top. Tennessee fans have every right to be pissed.

Sounds like all hell broke loose at the Grizzlies game after the Kiffin story broke. I'm just assuming that based on the Sportscenter opening.

I think they had to evacuate the arena because of a water main break or something like that.se-alum wrote: Sounds like all hell broke loose at the Grizzlies game after the Kiffin story broke. I'm just assuming that based on the Sportscenter opening.

I'm not sure it was related. I thought they said a fire alarm was pulled. Who knows, anything is possible.se-alum wrote: Sounds like all hell broke loose at the Grizzlies game after the Kiffin story broke. I'm just assuming that based on the Sportscenter opening.
