Mark Mcgwire crying on ESPN was quite funny to me this morning! The crying thing might have worked four years ago but not today. "I only took steroids to stay healthy and keep the endurance to finish a 162 game season." Shut the fuck up you douche bag! He's been lying about the use for years now comes up with this line.

I think we should start a new league called the JBL Juiced Baseball League! Then they can shoot up all the HGH and steroids they please. This way we can keep the records separate so none of the old timers get their panties in a bunch!

Actually, he never lied. He refused to discuss his past when in front of congress. He had never admitted or denied his use until yesterday. His refusal to give testimoney in congress was the recommendation of his lawyers, due to the potential for prosecution. But don't let anything like "facts" get in your way of criticizing him.

Did You watch those Congressional hearings where he testified and was questioned? From what i can remember he blatantly was avoiding and dancing around questions which leads to lying or hiding something where I come from. It was obvious during those hearings and most of Congress thought he was lying even though most of them were kissing his ass.

Yes, actually I did watch the hearings. Was he obviously avoiding the questions? Yes. Did he lie? No. You said he lied, and based your dislike on a false assumption. I merely pointed that out. I never said "not lying" was somehow a determinent for his moral character. He used steroids, he cheated the game. But you know what, so did numerous others. Historically many players used various types of PED's. Does that make it right? No. Am I still a fan of McGwire? Yes. The home runs show that Sosa and he put on that season saved baseball in my opinion. The league was still suffering from the strike and the HR Derby-like race started bringing people back to the ball park. So in my book, McGwire should be cut some slack. He never lied, like Clemens, Giambi, A-Rod or Petite. They lied initially and in the case of Petite, Giambi and A-Rod, then later admitted to using. So in that regard, yes, not lying is a positive.

He wanted immunity and the Justice Dept wouldn't give it, as said by the (then) Republican Chairman of that committee. If DOJ had given the greenlight he would have testified openly.

When you "take the 5th" you might not be technically lying but you are for all intent and purposes admitting to your guilt. And unless you were a complete dumb ass back in '03 you knew this jag-off was guilty. Shame on MLB for letting this turd back in the bowl.
