I would support Waynedale not ask for a witch hunt. I would mind my own business. I would let the athletic director (which is new this year) handle this mistake. The schedule was turned in a long time ago. It should have been addressed before the season. Osting is a good guy! I think our schedule is very similiar to Waynedales. Waynedale kids actually seem to have more matches. What was wrong will be corrected. "Getting the kids as many matches as possible" means just that. (as possible = within the rules) I guess if you think like a cheater, then you would think the worst.

What I want to know is; if the Huskies pull off the upset Saturday, are the Bears going to scream asterisk because of this whole thing? All the more reason to add a 1 day dual tourney Friday, then bracket tourney Saturday. I've mentioned this before; the purpose of a league is to have a group of teams committed to competing with each other. To have a season where two wrestlers don't have a chance to wrestle is silly. For the Chipps to dismiss the League tournament cuts me deep. I take alot of pride in our area wrestling and to not have them there diminishes that. Same reason I'm excited in the Rittman youth team.

We have a pick'em for football. Now, it takes alot of time to do a finals pick'em, but do we want to highlight a few weight classes and do a little pick'em. I know I would like to do 112 & 189, but I could see a few others too. Maybe we could do the pickem before the finals with so many of the huddlers using smartphones to post. Thoughts?

I hate when anybody turns a wrestling argument into a "spelling" contest. My god this is a forum not a "gottcha " spelling and grammar contest . I think this should get back to the county and sectional tournament and who is going to be there. Mistakes happen ,The punishment fits the crime (lose 2 points next year and sit out county) enough said ,let it go.

Also, everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter how misguided others may think it is, and in my opinion some absolutely crazy shit has been said recently like "Northwestern is somehow at fault for blowing the whistle on Chippewas careless oversights". Another is that "Chippewa and Waynedale wrestle similar schedules". I think these statements are ludacris but if you agree with them, its your right.

The more I look at this weekends county meet, the more I see Waynedale running off with it. No Chippewa team, no Todd Bouman. It pretty much plays into Golden Bear hands. Sure, Northwestern has a full team, but the youth and inexperience factor is sizable. Waynedales experience will overcome the Huskies full plate. No matter who wins, this tourney is shaping up to be a shell of what it should have been.

Next week at sectionals.....well thats going to be some serious action.

I feel sorry for the guys wrestling at 160 and 215 because if they win county it will be said they won because Hall and Schafrath wasn't participating and if they lose it will be said why didn't you place higher because Hall and Schafrath wasn't there. People need to remember before this tournament starts these are still high school kids and comments made to them hurt sometimes a little deeper than we as adults realize so whomever wins these classes congratulations on your win you went there and wrestled with your heart and you are the Wayne County League champion regardless of circumstances beyond your control. You will have wrestled your best and you will have been the victor on that day.

Will the guys who win/lose feel better or worse if a Chipp is missing from their bracket? I think they all know the score and will miss the competition but enjoy their higher placing anyway. A juicy story to tell their grandkids years from now. As was said, county is a preview for sectionals and they will wrestle Chipp next week. It was a mistake and it will make county a little less fun, but it is what it is and most people will respond accordingly.

Airborne, I think you should read over the rules carefully. Yes you DID go over your points according to the rule. Teams are only allowed 16 points from tournaments and ALL of your 20 points this year are from tournaments. It could have possibly been 24 points with the Gribbles and WCAL. You can have 20 points as long as 4 of those points are from duals or tri's. You have no duals or tri's on your schedule. It specifically says that dual tourneys cannot count towards a dual or tri. I believe this is why WGB says there should be sanctions.

I apologize and I stand corrected. No I do not have a problem with waynedale they run a top notch program that represents our league at state level every year with strength and integrity along with some great kids. I also have no prob. with them wrestling state duals. what I said was the state should simply charge the same points for their tourny as they do everybody else. after all if they run a points system they should hold themselves to the same standard. Yes beast I don't often post I usually get on daily just to get entertained by your posts. Unfortunatlly being a Chipp dad I don't have alot to cheer about except for soccer so I don't allways post. Those that know me personally (Falcon81) know I'm not a Jackass; and I rarelly get upset, however when people get on here wanting my son to miss post season and put a scholership at risk for a senior for a mistake they had no control over I tend to get deffensive. Sanctions have been handed down and penalties were assesed and hopefully this doesn't repeat itself in the future. No the kids that wrestle 160 & 215 shouldn't get an astrik next to there name anymore than if a kid gets injured and can't make it it's not the kids fault they can only wrestle who's on the other side of the mat.
