Oh I totally agree, I was just flipping back and forth between this game and football and heard the announcers saying he hadn't missed in the second half. Someone needs to make him put it on the floor and then give him a nice hard foul to knock him out of his rhythm.

5 of 6 at home, and getting the worst team in the conference twice in the stretch. Wisconsin isn't anywhere near the same team away from home, and OSU is definitely better than Northwestern and Penn State with Turner back.

No reason to start panicking just yet (not that anyone is).

No panic. But you have to win some road games to have any chance at Big Ten, along with building an NCAA resume'....and this was a game I thought OSU had a chance in. I wasn't overly hopeful, but again..OSU had a half time lead...they were in good shape. Thats the disappointing part.

I hate to give up on my buckeyes, but right now they just aren’t that good. They lack dept. Turner, Buford (Potential Wise), Lighty, and Lauderdale I say are the only Big Ten Caliber players on the team. The rest of the roster is Mid-Majors or Junior College type of players. What making this season so frustrating is that Ohio State brought back all but one player from a year ago. Doesn’t that usually mean they suppose to be better? It is still early so there is still plenty of time to right the ship. I sure hope it’s soon.

Panic? lol Come on, Turner was out a month. Had Turner played, OSU beats Butler and Mich IMO. They would then be sitting at 13-3 instead of 11-5. Prior to Turner injury, this team was MUCH BETTER, no question about it.
I am disappointed with today as well..not so much with the loss, but how the entire second half was played. But Minny is pretty good, and the Barn is not an easy place to play.
On top of that, getting Turner back is HUGE, but its going to take a little time for them to gel again as well.
I don't expect a win at Purdue...but would hope we see some improvement. Especially with Buford and we need a little more from Lauderdale as well.

OSU overachieved last year. I didn't expect more from them this year.

But with the way Turner started the season I thought he could carry the team beyond its potential.

Unfortunately he doesn't have much help.

I've been surprised by Lightys improvement and I think Lauderdale gives you what he can.

Then you have Madsen, Hill and Simmons who are not very talented and you can't expect much from them.

I've been really disappointed in Diebler and Buford's play and lack of improvement from a year ago.

I'll be surprised if OSU goes dancing this year.

Not panicking yet. As mentioned, there is still plenty of time left in the season. I do agree with you that Ohio State likely beats Butler and Michigan with Turner. Someone other than him has to step up though. Buford was suppose to be his Pippen this season, but been underachieving. It doesn't get any easier for the bucks as they will take on the 4th ranked Boilermakers next, that is fresh off a loss as well.

The Big Ten is tough this year. I think if Ohio State finishes 9-7 in the conference at worse and advances a round in the Big Ten tournament that will be enough. Anything less, they will be a bubble team.

OSU will probably need 20 wins to get in, because of their weak OOC schedule, and lack of big wins at this point. They have 15 games left and has 11 wins at this point.

So, disregarding the Big 10 tourney, they will have to win 9 of 15. They play Purdue and Michigan St. twice each as well as WVU. I think those are 5 losses. So they have to win 9 of the other 10 games (if my maths correct?) to get to 20.

Seems unlikely to me considering the play currently, and factoring in the minutes these guys are playing.

Please convince me now otherwise.

Ohio State is in no way a lock to make the NCAA Tournament. However, there is a lot of season to go. They need to win one of the "big 5" games remaining (at Purdue, at Michigan State, at West Virginia, vs Wisconsin and vs Purdue). If they finish 22-10 and lose those 5, they will be sweating on selection Sunday.

Obviously nothing is gauranteed. OSU has 8 home games left. I feel they will win those. That gets them to 19 wins right there. They will also beat the likes of PSU, Iowa and IU on the road. Thats 3 more wins, giving them 22. Now, will it play out that way? Doubtful..maybe a home loss, and probably an upset win on the road could easily happen. Then you can add a win or two in the Big Ten.
Add in that the NCAA will account for the absence of Turner...and OSU is in the NCAA when u add in that they played in at this point, the second best conference in the country.

Again, the current level of play will get better as Turner continues to get back in stride and your continuous talk about minutes is jsut that, talk. The key player, Turner, will be fresh as he just had a month off. These players played same minutes last year, didn't affect them as they went on to win the big ten tourny.

You are right, and given the Turner injury, they will have an advantage with that when being looked at by the committee. The good thing for OSU is that Iowa, Penn State and Indiana are really terrible and OSU gets those 3 teams twice on the schedule. The way they are going, Illinois could be the 4th worst team in the conference and OSU gets them twice as well. This schedule will benefit them.

Starting conference play with 4 of 5 on the road, including 3 probable NCAA tournament teams (this includes Purdue) and playing the first 2 of those road games without one of the top players in the country was not going to be pretty. Again, not sure why people are surprised.

Now Turner is back, will keep getting better as he regains his rhythm, and like I posted earlier 5 of the next 6 in conference are at home, with 4 of the next 6 games coming against the worst 3 teams in the conference.

After this next stretch of 7 games (including West Virginia out of conference) I expect OSU to be around 17-7 (7-4), with a couple more good wins (Wisky and Minny), and some of these comments will look ridiculous.

I think the biggest thing heading forward will be to beat either Wisconsin or Purdue at home. I don't expect any huge road wins, but getting at least one (hopefully both) of those would be enormous.

Assuming OSU doesn't pull a semi-shocker @ Purdue, the Wisconsin game is going to be absolutely huge.

I think they are a bubble team as well. The lack of inside scoring threat allows teams to stretch their defense without fear. The team has no depth and if one the scores( Diebler, Buford,, or Turner) has a bad game the Bucks struggle mightily.

Before Turner was hurt I felt winning 2 out of the first 5 would be a god start considering the schedule. Ohio State would have beaten Michigan with Turner. Thus, Ohio State is 1 game off the best case scenario due to Turner getting hurt.
