I just went to Lowes and Home depot to look Propane and Kerosene heaters. I want one for my garage so I can work on my vehicles in comfort and not freeze my butt off. Wasn't too impressed with anything at Lowes so I went to Home Depot. I couldn't find any Torpedo style heaters so asked if they had any, a employee showed me where he thought they were and there wasn't any there. He then asked another employee and he said "they wouldn't be getting anymore in because they're out of season." I mean really I almost laughed in his face, It's ten fucking degrees outside and your telling me that they're out of season. Could someone tell me when heaters are in season. I realize he probably meant they aren't going to order more and take risk of being stuck with them till next year.

One time I called a local take out joint and asked if I could get a half-dozen wings.

Clerk says "yes"

I say "how much is that?"

Clerk says "6"!

I paused a second, then busted out laughing.

I went to exchange propane tanks, and the guy told me that I couldn't store the fresh tank in a snowbank since the propane would freeze in no time.

For those who are unaware, the boiling point of propane is -44 Fahrenheit.

The freezing point is -306 F, by the way.

I mean, it's cold... but damn...

On an unrelated note, check out Craigslist for heaters as I wish I had done that last year when I bought one for similar purposes. I bought one of the high BTU ones out of Northern Tool, but realized after the fact I could have gotten someone elses with more power for much cheaper.

Get the a kerosene one, as you can use Diesel in it as it is cheaper than kerosene and can be found at every local gas station.
