He gave the times. It was a little after 10 when the first call came in and 11:20 when they breached the room.

He also said that it wasn't known (or at least he didn't know) when the shots stopped compared to the breach of the room.

We're they unable to determine where the shots were coming from? I guess that would add some time, but it doesn't seem like it should have taken that long.

I wasn't sure which thread to post this on (why do we have two again?)

http://dailycaller.com/2017/10/02/cbs-legal-exec-no-sympathy-because-country-music-fans-often-are-republican/
A top legal executive at CBS, Hayley Geftman-Gold, said she “is not even sympathetic” for the victims of the shooting at a country music festival at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas Sunday night.

“If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs will ever do the right thing,” wrote Geftman-Gold on Facebook, perhaps referring to Sandy Hook. “I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters.” Later Monday, CBS announced that Geftman-Gold had been fired.
It's amazing the dumb shit people say, especially the ones with high profile jobs.

All acts of violence denote an element to one degree or another of terrorism. "Terrorism" in the current public discourse involves some sort of political or other ideological motive. Which I think is a fair judgment. The problem is politicians have corrupted an otherwise wise assessment of these acts of violence for their own political gain. Rest assured politicians have been working hard all day how to "handle" the facts as they become available to the public with this current atrocity in a manner favorable to themselves.

This guy no doubt is some sort of nutjob. You have to be to do something like this. But this is not some mentally deranged dude "snapping" and going of the rails. This was well planned. The guy had two rooms and brought an arsenal of weapons and ammunition over a period of days to them. He obviously specifically targeted this event. His planning took a significant amount of time likely many months. He possessed fully automatic weapons illegal to the average joe. Broke out two windows and placed firing platforms on both rotating firing positions (per reports). Quite a feat for one 64yr old guy.

I am not saying this guy did not act alone. Just that this incident given the effort requires a very high level of motivation. So what was the motive?

Heard this morning on the radio: 23 guns in the hotel room, and the shooter used an "AK-47 type gun with a stand for stability."

According to Tom Brokaw on NBC this morning, Paddock was a gun collector, and gun collectors are known to be gunsmiths capable of easily converting their weapons to fully-automatic. Sounded like a blanket condemnation of collectors to me.

I'm not a gun collector, although I know it's likely at least some have gunsmith skills. But how accurate is Brokaw's generalization?

Not sure I would confuse a high level of "motivation" with just above average intelligence and the patience/discipline to plan this out. For whatever reason he decided to do this, he probably really got off on the anticipation. Probably got that much more excited every time he progressed.

He had over two dozen weapons. His brother thought he had a couple of hand guns.

I don't know, but it's about as responsible as reporting on someone having their brakes cut, and then talking about how car collectors know how to sever brake lines because they tinker with their engines.

Just look at the CBS lawyer that got fired. No one thinks like that, or thinks it's acceptable to tweet that, unless you work in an environment with a lot of similarly minded people.

Outrageous, but in today's world the twisted liberal mind continues to spit out bizarre stuff. When you see the hyphenated last names, be wary.

WTF does that have to do with anything?
Be wary, what does that mean? Care to explain....

I have friends from both sides of the political perspective that have hyphenated last names.

You don't even need to modify the gun to bump-fire a semi-auto...all it takes is the right grip and some practice.

Legally purchased weapons, using bump stocks led to the largest mass killing in American history.
