I said the same thing when I asked her what she was baking. But I didn't stutter, it's exactly what I said it was. And it was excellent. And I'm not a big cornbread fan.

Had BWs with my son yesterday.

I will probably eat on the run today. I'm guessing a quest bar or maybe 2.

I have an orchard of apple, pear, plum, and peach trees and have been finding shrooms under them for the last three years. Last year found close to a hundred over the season. Makes it nice not having to go into the woods.

Today?

It was a new creation - Asian hamburger salad. A leftover hamburger with melted cheese on it, reheated and crumbled in a bowl, and mixed with lettuce and broccoli. The dressing was sesame oil, with Asian cuisine seasoning sprinkles. Unbelievable good if you go for those flavors.

Interesting! I love mushrooms. Are they visible above ground? Or do you have to dig to look for them? And can you easily tell the difference between an edible morel vs. a poisonous toadstool?

I only eat what I know is edible. Mostly morels, puff balls, and hickory jacks. I know there are many different ones, but those are the only ones I am comfortable in eating. The morels are pretty easy to see at my place since I have mowed the area recently. The puff balls are hard to miss they are big white balls in the middle of the woods. Hickory jacks grow on side of dead trees, stumps, or logs. I have always avoided mushrooms with gills visible under the cap. The reason being they are the hardest to distinguish between edible and poisonous.

I say "Got Dang" every time I find them in the yard. I think how much walking I have done through the years in woods to find them bastards and now I just walk out my side door and pick them. Checked this morning but nothing.
