At the beginning of the final game the shot clock clicker died and was replaced. This did not affect our interface to the clock."
The Tissot clocks have clicker connected for shot-clock. Game clock is controlled via the touchscreen and the ref whistle/pack. But shot clock is controlled by the guy manually resetting. Tissot is only used in NBA stadiums. They have a setting for NBA/College/HS. It defaults to NBA. For NCAA games, they bring in guys who don't work with Tissot much, and what they work with all year usually only has 1 setting. Maybe 2 (men's and women's). So no he is hitting the reset button on the new clicker, bit it's default setting must have been set to reset to 15 not 30. That's super weird, but could easily happen when replacing. It should default to whatever the setting is (35, 30 or 24). But I've seen it where something like happens.
Hell in Milwaukee this year we are testing it out Wednesday. Everything is good. Gameday we come in and test again and somehow it got switched to NBA mode. So I manually enter 30 as the override for reset, which is fine. But you can't manually override the tenths...in NBA under 5 seconds displays tenths. In NCAA, they don't do that. Took us a solid 2 hours to track down the right person to switch the shot clock back into NCAA mode from NBA.
