Can't be mad or happy. We'll see how he turns out. It's a crap shoot with qbs.

He does have athleticism and an NFL arm. I've seen him make accurate tough throws, at times. The potential is there.

It's good value, but after swinging and missing SO many times for SO many years, you'd think CLE would just load up the team everywhere else with what always seems to be a ton of picks.

Seriously, their ability to accumulate picks wheeling-and-dealing would make them flat scary if they ever do find that QB.

Yup exactly. He has all the tools to be very good. He's just needs a lot of work and will have to sit a while

It's not a bad pick for that late imo. I don't think the other QBs are that much more/less better prospects than him. Overall I think this FO is going to keep drafting a QB every year until they get it. They keep stock piling picks to do so.

Not a bad pick there. Should fit nicely next to Shelton

Great upside and value at 52. Don't think they reached at all, and got a potential starting NFL QB.

My take on Kizer, not our first/second/third option but best option they thought they had (personally I'd rather try with dobbs but not enough to QQ about it). He was at one point thought of as the top QB prospect until he QQ'd too much. It's a swing, slightly misguided, but I like that we tried. He fucking least as the physical tools which I like. Time ffor hue to put up or shut up.

Do you have anything that says this? I got the impression that they valued Kizer the same as any other QB and thus were ok with grabbing him in the 2nd instead of trading up and reaching for somebody like Mahomes.

I figured of all people on this site, that you would be fucking ecstatic. Earlier during the college year you were talking about how he might go #1 overall (assuming the browns were the #1 pick, which they were lol) and we all made fun of you. I hope 3 years from now (or sooner) you can bring back those posts and shit on us.

I'm biased, because I covered DeShone for 3 years in High School and got to do several interviews/sit down talks with him for the local station in Toledo (BCSN). Talent aside, which he has a ton of potential, he is a great kid from a great family. 3 sport athlete who loved his teammates and just wanted to win. Very well spoken, with a good head on his shoulders. Despite the out of context quotes recently, he is a humble kid.

I'm pretty excited to see how he fares. He is smart enough to learn the NFL pretty quickly...just hope his untapped talent keeps up.

That was also based on his 2015 season and that first game against Texas. He was just so inconsistent through tour the year. I think a lot of that had to do with Brian Kelly, a terrible defense, and very young receivers. He just tried to do too much in the 4th quarter a lot of times. He does need work with his foot work but all the tools are there. I've seen him make incredible throws and then turn around and throw the ball into the ground. When his foot work is right he can really throw it. When it's not he struggles. The good thing is that it is very fixable, you just can't teach arm talent. If we get the Kizer of 2015, I truly think we have found our qb. If we get the 2016 Kizer we'll let's just say it's not pretty lol. I think we will see lore of the 2015 Kizer but we shall see.

I agree 100% with this. I might be a little biased too since my brother worked out with him a lot and ran routes for him in the summer before he got to ND and my buddy from high school helped him with his training. There is no question he has serious talent. Just gotta put it all together

That was more taken out of context than anything but he's always been a humble guy that's why those words kinda surprised me a bit.

The Kizer pick was great value at 52. Multiple "scouts "had him rated ahead of Watson. He may not pan out but the Browns didn't give up the farm and over reach on one either
