Two years ago the Belly family started a tradition.... Because of my daughters and their spouse family commitments. We now have two Thanksgiving dinners.
On Thanskgiving we sever up steamed Crab legs, melted butter, cheese bread and a great salad. We just pig out on crab legs.
The day after Thanksgiving I prepare a traditional Thankinging turkey diner ...
Turkey
Stuffing
Mash potatoes
Gravy
Green beans
Wine
Cranberry sauce
Pumkin and Peacon pie w/ ice cream

Any Thanksgiving Tradition in your family?

Who makes the best of whatever that is a Thankgiving favorite?

Can't wait.

This is most likely my aunt's last year hosting, her 50th. FIFTY turkeys cooked in the same house!

My family has Thanksgiving on Friday every year. We do one roasted turkey and one deep fried. Then we all get super drunk. One of my favorite days of the year.

Spending Thursday with my husband's family. We have to drive all over Ohio for the holidays every year, but we don't mind.

Heading back to OH next Tuesday night for Thanksgiving. All I do is eat and drink all week!

Wednesday night - Fish Fry, keg, and reverse raffle at a local high school fundaiser

Thursday - 2 meals:
First one lunch at my in-laws and with about 30 relatives. They are Italian so they actually do homemade pasta and sauce for Thanksgiving.
Then traditional Thanksgiving dinner at my sister's house.

Friday is my in-laws anniversary, so we always go out for a nice family dinner.

Saturday - Tailgating at OSU-Michigan game all day

Sunday - Church, brunch, & drive back to NC in the afternoon.

That is a lot of turkey, hope you dont let all of that go to waste....


Typically starts with a great workout and a run, then not much until dinner that evening, not too crazy. New years day...that is THE day for eating. Bar b que ribs, saurkraut, mashed potatoes....the best eating day of the year!

That's really pretty cool. For about 15 years my wife and I hosted the big Thanksgiving meal as we were about the only stable couple that lived where we could host several. Now my Dad and stepmom host at his place and there will be around 40 people from all the related members of each family.

A lot of stress off my wife.

Yeah, it's a ton of work. I can't believe she's been going this long, I think she's around 82. She hosts anywhere between 20-30 people and with my cousins' recent influx of babies being born, it's a fucking madhouse.

Football in the morning (Ohio colleges versus Out of State). We usually have enough for about 9 v 9.

Watch the Lions game, then eat and get drunk.

We do one with our NC Friends the Sunday before (so this Sunday), and we deep fry a turkey. Then after, deep fry some "Thanksgiving Balls". Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing and Cranberry rolled info a ball and put int he deep fryer. Amazing.

Then the fam goals to run turkey trot. After that it's beer

We've hosted my wife's family for over 20 years....usually 25 -40 people. I love it. They entertain themselves, and once the food prep is done, it's all about relaxing. ....a little wine...a little Irish whiskey.
