I think he needs to go, and believe the next guys would really do well there as Crean has been great for the program getting it back on its feet and not getting any sanctions etc put on them. I just don't think they get rid of him.
Who do they hire anyway? Gregg Marshall is about the only guy I feel comfortable being able to be better than Crean for sure, and a few I think could very well be worse. Brad Stevens aint leaving Boston. So, you go after Marshall and he says no? Then what?
I am not usually a fan of firing the coach. Didnt get to see the game last night but to lose by 30........are the players giving up? If the players have lost faith in the team and coach then the have an enormous problem. Will OG come back next year after his injury or if promised/projected to get drafted next year will he take a chance and leave?
To say they cannot fire him because of the recent success I think is a little short sighted. If the general concensus of those around and in the program that he has lost the faith of the players then that could be the last bullet. Wont be in season, that is for sure.
I dont think they fire him without putting feelers out to some guys they would want and see if they were even be interested
I give TC credit for what he has done in the shitty situation he had to start in but man I am leaning in that direction that maybe he needs to go. Whom do you get? I dont know, but the program is in a much better spot now and much more attractive than it was when he took the job.
I know Alford wont come back, nor am I promoting that he should, but I am glad to see him doing well at UCLA. Been following his stops since Manchester and was curious if he could do well out there and glad that he has.
