What? I've read from multiple people that everyone on the team within a few innings of being taken out went up to Bauer and said "we are winning this game for you".

I didn't see that. I was only basing it on the post game interviews.

1. More from the TBS crew. This time, Gary Sheffield. I'll paraphrase. "We all came here assuming the Blue Jays were going to win tonight and make this a series. It might be time we give some credit to Cleveland. These boys came to play."

Toronto was the Wild Card team, right? That had to sneak into the playoffs? We won the Central? 94 wins? Cake walked into the playoffs. These guys are ridiculous.

2. I watched a lot of the postgame including interviews. My question: do we think Bauer is liked in the clubhouse? I'm starting to wonder. First of all, he's a different dude. I could see him as a little antisocial to begin with and then his general demeanor is kinda of surly.

The reason I ask...every single player I saw interviewed was obviously asked about the finger. And they all sang the praises of the bullpen....for good reason. But I didn't hear anybody say anything like, "Trevor is our guy. We wanted to pick him up." It was all, "Yea, we thought it might bleed. The bullpen was ready and they did a hell of job." Which is true but it was bizarre to see nobody talk about Bauer at all. Maybe I'm reading too much into it.
Probably looking too much into it....but from an outsider looking in I can see it a bit.

I don't know how well liked he is. There was a start, late summer-ish, he had where someone dropped a ball and he wasn't getting calls...and post-game he pretty much blamed the field and umpires. I can remember Hammy just goin in on him during the broadcast I was listening to the next day. Saying pretty much he needs to shut up, grow up, take ownership, or the clubhouse will turn on him real quick.

There was another one at the beginning of the year where he got rocked in an outing and walked a ton, and Hammy lit him up again talking about how maybe he should spend more time worry about command and control rather than trying to impress everyone with his pre-game stuff and trying to throw it as hard as he can.

So maybe the team loves him I don't know...but I get the feeling Hammy isn't a fan.

Any chance they get Salazar back if they make the World Series. Also Bauer could most likely pitch in game 3 if they make it. Game 3 is the 28th that would give him about 10 full days for the skin to repair itself.

Why would they not let him put a bandage on it? A pitcher relies on gripping the baseball, all the bandage would do is hinder him more than help him create movement, wouldn't it?

MLB has a rule that nothing can be on the pitchers pitching hand.

Absolutely perfectly managed game last night. No one really got extended out that they would be totally out of tonight's game. Dont know if they can get the sweep but the series is solid.

BTW...Gibbons is a fucking idiot. He comes out of the dugout in the first inning trying to get Bauer out of the game like we don't have the best bullpen in the game that was totally prepared for that scenario.

I'd rather face the guy hemorrhaging blood from his pitching hand who has already walked 2 guys in that inning than a good reliever with as much time as he needs to get warm. I don't care how sharp you are mentally...dripping blood from your finger is going to affect your focus on the hitter.

I dont disagree with your assessment one bit. If I were the manager I wouldnt say a damned thing about that bleeding unless the pitcher was throwing well. Wasnt their two on when he was finally taken out? You dont want the pitcher to have an 'advantage' and a little blood could possibly be used by the pitcher but how it was going...man you let that shit go.

and how did the base ump not see it?

If he starts AND by the grace of god we win (not going to happen, pitching sucks and bats have gone silent), would he be able to start the WS?

game 1 isn't until the 25th, so I don't see why not

Depends on if Francona believes Kluber is going to be strong on 1 days less rest. You could almost let him go game 5, if needed, and still be able to pitch game 1 of the WS.

I change my prediction. Instead of 4-1, it will be 4-0.

I'll give my WS predictions once the teams are set.

I like the good ju-ju...but Chicago is a REALLY good complete team with a pretty strong rotation. I'd assume Vegas would still have them as the favorite

From a national perspective, the Tribe has lost their #2, #3, & now #5 starters and left are Kluber, Tomlin and

Unless Kershaw can pitch 3 more times...I think Cubs take it 4-2
