I agree. If you beat the tag and you are hover over the base, you're safe. It's just not natural for baseball to all of a sudden be calling guys out like that.

How long is that drive?

Was this the feeling Yanks fans got whenever Mo came in the game? Just overly confident?

Seriously, I was told Ohioans is the state the measures distance in time instead of miles.

It is not dumb, it is the rule and an appropriate rule! Need to learn to slide in a manner that you can stay on the base! The better the shot they have to tag you, the more risk of losing contact with the base the runner has to take to try to avoid the tag. Rightfully, the premium is now on good sliding and good tagging. Tag plays was one of the parts of the game that the umps missed a large percentage and now they are getting it right making it a much more fair game. The fairness is helped on tag plays almost as much as it would be helped by K-zone called balls and strikes, and the K-zone called balls and strikes would speed up the game by stopping the debating!

Dangerous too. Seemed like every time Billy Hamilton was caught it was on the replay showing he left for a split second.

Problem lies when players over slide the bag and do it. They have to clear up the difference if they change it. Hover might be a good determining word.
