imo- The price variance should be the first sign how Maaco is dishonest.

Do you have a finishing sander? Do you feel like doing some prep work yourself to save a few hundred bucks? Quite frankly you'd be better off doing some of the prep work yourself and taking it to some (Earl Scheib wanna-be) like "Budget paint and body", 2846 W Broad St, Columbus, OH.


Also, you're brave to have a new paint job on a college campus.

I can't sand my own car. I suck at most projects. Right now trying to rip up old carpet and put down laminate. Everyone made it sound so easy...then I rip up carpet (easy), rip up foam pad (mostly easy but glued down part pulled up old gross tile underneath), pulled up carpet tack board (rotten, screwed and nailed in and a pain in the ass. Almost every piece pulled up a layer of crumbled tile and it took a while and the mess was ridiculous)......got thin foam pad taped down and I think I'm ready to try laying it later. I'll be shocked if it turns out good with me doing it.

Did laminate twice at family members houses. My suggestion would be to...wear knee pads. (insert joke here). First time my knees hurt so bad from kneeling on the hard floor! The toughest part other than what you already have done is going around possible obstacles but other than that the last part is the easiest.

This is also starting under each window and fender well. It's been paid off for 8 years and it's getting a good paint job for a $1,000.
