The committee has voiced that their decisions are based on the quality of wins and body of work indicating a consistent play against hi level opponents. When comparing the same level of teams (which WMU and Navy are), undefeated trumps 2 losses.

According to the committee undefeated doesn't necessarily trump a 2 loss team. The quality of wins and body of work indicating a consistent play against hi level opponents is what they are looking at.

If both teams win in their conference champ and Navy wins the following week against Army, I think you will see that being undefeated for Western won't be enough based on the Committees stated criteria.

Right now I think they are and I think the committee does also. The reason it's not a waste of time is because of the money involved for the highest ranking G5 school that wins there conference. Here's another cool stat. Each team ranked ahead of WMU has a tougher SOS than WMU. 5 teams ranked ahead of Navy have an easier SOS than Navy okst, lou, fl, wv, stan
