Doing Waste Management/Vegas for SB in 2019 with a bunch of guy friends. Cant wait. We will have to be careful since we will be drinking inside the ropes, but from what Ive seen working that event...nobody will even notice lol.

Yeah. I'm a pediatric critical care specialist. I round in the pediatric ICU, neonatal ICU, congenital heart center, peds ED, and labor/delivery.

Full review -It was phenomenal. All three islands were amazing. We did a beach day in Aruba and then ate at the West Deck, which was delicious. We snorkeled the protected reef off Klein Bonaire. It was my favorite excursion I have ever done and Bonaire is now my fave place on earth. We hit up a beach bar afterward and swam and drank and swan and drank some more. We did an open air trolley tour of Grand Turk. There are some meh areas, but their beaches are so gorgeous that it really doesn't matter. We also got to pet wild donkeys that just hang out all over the island. They were precious. Afterward we went to Jack's Shack on the beach and did more swimming and drinking. It was a common theme at all three places, obvs.

This was my third cruise, and it was by far my fave. The southern Caribbean had perfect weather, and the ports of call were excellent. We never had any locals hounding us to buy anything or use their taxi service, etc. Everyone was friendly and respectful and we all agreed we would go back to any of them for a full vacation.

I've never sailed with anyone but Carnival, but I love them. Our ship was super nice, the crew was awesome and the food was great. It was definitely an older crowd because school is in session and not many families are going on vacation in February, but that was a positive for us. Everyone was nice and there was a good vibe on the boat. People just having a good time and relaxing.

So yeah, if you are looking for a tropical vacay, I recommend Aruba, Bonaire or Grand Turk/Turks and Caicos.

Seems like a hot spot to go recently. I've had a few friends who have been in the past few months. They got great flight deals and said nothing but good things.

Another friend just got his dual citizenship and he won't STFU about it. He's trying to get me to go in August for this festival called Neopop in Viana do Castelo.

Question.....when you are on these big cruise ships do you feel 'normal' or can you feel a bit of sea sickness? I get weird motion sickness at times. Next winter I am looking to go some place in the caribbean but dont want to do a cruise if people can feel shitty.

Co-workers just spent a couple days in Lisbon on their way to Ghana. They all liked it a lot, said it would be a good travel spot as prices were pretty cheap. They pictures were awesome as well.

I've never experienced seasickness, but I still use Dramamine/Bonine the first couple days as a precaution. I would rather not chance it, because I have heard that if you get sick at the beginning, the whole thing is miserable. This cruise there were seven of us and no one got sick, and last cruise there were about 30 and again, no one got sick. Our ship was swaying pretty steadily for several of the eight days we were on it, but I actually enjoy it at night because it rocks me to sleep, lol.

If you are worried, I would suggest pills or patches, and getting a room near the bottom of the ship where the swaying is less noticeable. That rules on balconies, but if you are like us, you won't spend much time in there anyway. You could also start with a shorter trip, too.

Flights are "reasonable" (by comparison to other places), really just trying to shore up how much time we want to spend in each city and where to stay. Anyone got Recs on that would be much appreciated!

Nobody who takes medicine gets sick on cruises, from what I've been told. The stuff they have is insanely effective. My aunt used to get sick on my uncles sailboat, they got a motorboat and she still got sick. Started taking the medicines they have and hasn't gotten sick since, cruises included.

I've been on 2 and have never had an issue. I took it on my first one just in case, but the boat was super steady the whole way. I'm not sure if I needed it or not. I didn't on my 2nd one, which has some bumpy patches because of a storm. But I definitely know people who take Dramamine just as a precaution.

My wife and I just booked our 2 main trips we had planned this year last night. Vegas April 13-18 with some of her friends from work. I can't wait to be back in Vegas.

We also booked a cruise September 3-10. Leaves out of New Orleans and ports in Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. I have never been on a cruise but my wife has done about 5 or so. It's good to here that Carnival is pretty great. My wife has only done Royal Caribbean and a lot of what shes heard is that Carnival isn't as great as them. Still I am pretty pumped for it. We also plan on staying in New Orleans on the 2nd and the 10th to enjoy some time in the city.

I'm going to San Antonio in June for a conference and plan on sticking around for a few days after to check out the city. Any recommendations? It will be my first time visiting Texas outside of an airport.

I love Vegas. But I agree. Max I can handle is 3 nights. 72 hours of virtually no sleep is plenty of hours with virtually no sleep.

I'll usually fly in Friday afternoon, and take a redeye out Sunday night. So, 2 nights and 2 days, basically. If its a holiday Monday/Friday, maybe add a day...

Haha I was there for 6 days last year and it did not seem long enough but it was my first time so maybe that will change. My wife likes to do all the touristy shit so it's not all gambling/drinking for me. I think one day this time is going to be dedicated to going to the Hoover Dam/Grand Canyon.

I leave for Vegas on Thursday. Drive for me is 17 hours. 4 of us going. Be there Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and half-day on Sunday.

Not too bad, 5th time I've been there for about the same amount of days each time.
