Does anyone else want a bat more now that Brantley is getting another MRI or are you OK with the outfield and would rather want a pen guy?

Well Jordan Bastian said yesterday that team scouts are raving about the Tribe farm system, and Cleveland might be able to make a few moves happen without giving up Zimmer/Frazier. Personally, I would swap Zimmer for Mejia (and Aiken...LHP would be tough to part with). Id give up anyone else, which it sounds like they may be able too. Mejia is in Single-A, but a 40 game hit streak and invite to futures game speaks for itself.

But that would still leave us Yandy Diaz (Futures game), Bobby Bradley, Bradley Zimmer, Clevinger, Kaminsky, Sheffield, Papi, etc. Some nice assets to make some moves and they wouldnt mortgage the future.

I agree I'd rather trade zimmer than mejia. I truly think mejia is going to be an absolute stud. The Yankees were scouting Sheffield yesterday and had 6.1 scoreless innings and 8 k's while hitting 91-95 on the fastball so hopefully that will help get things done for miller.

The point of having a great farm system is so you can leverage it when you are in position to make a run. Most of these guys won't pan out anyway and if you can trade them for known entities to make a run...why not? If we were in the hunt yearly and able to sign big free agents in the offseason then maybe you don't mortgage the future but when you get a shot once in a decade...go for it.

Exactly. Until you have a consensus top 5 prospect (maybe even 10), there is no point in penciling them into the future lineups. Most consensus top 5 guys pan out to be good players, and you are more likely to find your stars there (Lindor, Trout, Harper, Correa, etc). But, we dont even have a consensus top 20 guy. We are loaded with top 100 prospects, and a lot are young who will move up the ranks over time (yes potentially ending as a top 5-10 prospect), but of the guys projected to see the Show next year, none are top 20 prospects. Why hang on to them? The only 2 that I have read about, consistently, since they were signed/drafted are Frazier and Aiken.

Reading that Indians prefer Miller over Chapman.
Didn't really phrase that right. Didn't say you were talking about WAR, but that was what I was reading in a column about that potential trade; that Schwarber's projected WAR in comparison to that of Miller/Chapman was behind the reasoning that they would try to get both for him.

Normally no, but this time around and this starting pitching staff, yes, please Dolan take on Miller's $9m salary for the next 2.4 years.

With Gomes out long term, I'd prefer Lucroy in that lineup and leave the outfield as is.

Not sure where Kipnis' power is coming from but I'll take it. 1-0 Tribe off a solo homer, his 16th.

Funny. I literally JUST read an article about how he changed something tiny in his swing to get a few degrees more elevation. Not enough where he isnt a gap to gap line drive hitter anymore, but enough that when he squares it up, it clears the wall more.

Basically, the power has been more due to the changed exit angle of the ball off the bat, from some small change and not much of anything else.

Not a solo home run this time, but I'll take a 2 run RBI double from Naquin. 4-0 Tribe.

I like Naquin. His approach at the play since coming back has been better...so are his results and defensively he is great. He made a flat-footed throw home the game the streak ended in Toronto that was ridiculous.

Kipnis is having his best season ever-probably better than either of his All Star seasons but 2B is so stacked in the AL he got a little snubbed.

Santana gets in on the home run train. Solo shot 5-0. Carrasco's finally gave up a hit in the 4th.

Napoli can't be outdone, 2 run shot to make it 7-0. Kennedy's day is over and had more than 100 pitches in the 5th inning.

I was interested so I looked it up, as of right now I think the Indians have 124 home runs, and last year they only had 140 the entire year. We still have 2 months of baseball left!

My goodness have a day Tyler Naquin. Dead center 3-run homer. 11-0 Tribe. Unfortunately Rosie called half of these

I like the decision by Tito to take carrasco out of the game after the 6th with only 84 pitches

It would be nice to be able to get lucroy and smith from the Brewers. Fill 2 huge needs with 1 trade and makes sense for both teams. I'm sure the Brewers are asking for a lot right now in sure the asking price will come down closer to the deadline

Lucroy playing and getting accustomed to Milwaukee may prefer a Cleveland like market over others.
