Wife and I binged 'Homeland' now that it's on Hulu. Well I binged 2 1/2 seasons she saw it through. Man talk about a show that went from great to garbage in a hurry.

Anyone watch Ballers? I can't decide if it is decent or not. I'll probably give this season 5 episodes to sway me. Last season was okay. I like the Rock and prefer sports agency talk to Hollywood talk.

It's kind of fun. I wouldn't call it good, and certainly doesn't rise to the standards of many other HBO shows....but it's entertaining.GOONx19;1802030 wrote:Anyone watch Ballers? It's good for what it is. Makes me laugh enough and its middle of the summer fun. Wouldn't watch in fall spring or winter, but summertime show I think it's pretty good.

Yes. Been a very good first 2 episodes. Turturro is awesome. The pilot was one of the best pilots I have seen in a long time.bases_loaded;1803672 wrote:Anyone watching The Night Of? Pretty good so far.

Watched the 2nd episode last night. Love it. I'm assuming there will be some crazy twists coming.

I still need to catch up on Preacher and The Night Of.
Mantooth insists that I need to watch Stranger Things on Netflix. He really likes it.

My buddy bunged the whole season and recommended it. I've watched 2 so far. It's... Different.Fab4Runner;1803688 wrote: Mantooth insists that I need to watch Stranger Things on Netflix. He really likes it.

Anyone watch Vice Principals on HBO? Danny McBride plays the obnoxious jackass role perfectly.

Ehh, it's gotten better - the 4th episode was the only one I've really found to be hilarious, but the last one was pretty good, too. Walter Goggins is, as usual, excellent. McBride is usually too cartoonish, but he's had some great lines.friendfromlowry;1807847 wrote:Anyone watch Vice Principals on HBO? Danny McBride plays the obnoxious jackass role perfectly.
I don't think I would recommend it, at this point.

Back from the dead!
No Westworld talk? I'm surprised. I've been very into it. It's a bit over the top at times, but I'm fascinated by the entire concept.

I just started watching the MacGyver reboot.
It's not as bad as I thought it'd be, but the internal monologues are too much like Burn Notice, which got old.

Designated Survivor started out pretty good, but now it's starting to drag.
Still watching The Blacklist....it's really slowed and lost some appeal the last season or two, but the fall finale this week got back to what made the show so good.

Also been on High Maintenance on HBO, both the web series and actual show. It's fucking hilarious and so real life regarding NYC it's somewhat creepy.

Westworld is good. It sometimes gets very boring and repetitive. But it's a crazy concept show. I like the originality.

Its based off an old movie, so not original. But I get what you mean.SportsAndLady;1823877 wrote:Westworld is good. It sometimes gets very boring and repetitive. But it's a crazy concept show. I like the originality.
Personally, I'm Luke-warm on Westworld. I am enjoying it, but it doesn't seem to know where it's going. All my friends rave about it, and I feel like a buzzkill saying it's good not great lol.

Yeah I just meant it's not like every other tv show that is exactly the same thing. Wasn't it based off a book though?Laley23;1823908 wrote:Its based off an old movie, so not original. But I get what you mean.

And agreed with your second point. I feel like it's not that great of a show, but the concept of the show is really good so it kind of evens out the so-so plot.

Based off the Michael Crichton movie. While he's an author, not sure he wrote a book. Think it's just the movie he directed.

Didn't pick anything new this year. I am just going to see what gets renewed for a 2nd season and then watch them on Netflix.
I am watching The West Wing for the first time, which I really like.
