Anyone else see this shit? What a bunch of trash. I am pleased with how the administrators have handled the situation but embarrassed that this trash exists at my school.

Really liked a quote from one of the administrators. When he/she was told that the protestors claimed "They don't listen to us", the response was "we've listened, they just don't like our responses".

I hope each and everyone one of them is expelled. What do they think would happen if they did this at their job. You can't go demanding to know everything and then on top of that demand someone there to explain to you what it is you want to know.

I don't mind them expressing their opinions, they lose me at "demands".

I don't see any of these people having real jobs. If they are students they are wasting time and money and might as well move on to being mediocre without the debt.

I get that the admin is asking them to leave. What exactly are they demanding?

Any individual in that group protesting, in that room, in that building that is not a student .... Should go to jail... Breaking a student conduct code is one thing, breaking the law requires legal action.

I liked the protest in the 60s ..... Dedicated to going to jail, drinking, sex and prepared to defend the cause... Such a weak generation milliennial are. :).

These little shits don't even know how to stage a decent "protest". Back in the day we'd burn down the ROTC Bldg, flip some cars on High St and march arm in arm to the State House...THAT's how you do a college protest ya weiners.

Some typical SJW shit like making OSU commit to using "Real Food" instead of GMO, conventional foods and making OSU disclose their specific financial investments. They also want a full time university paid group to help them understand the annual report that OSU puts out.

OSU is never going to disclose its full financial profile and it never should have to. The group basically wants to bitch and moan if OSU invests in a company they disagree with(which corporations are bad!! so they can find pretty much anything wrong with any of them). The whole group is a joke and deserves nothing.

I don't mind protesting if it's for legit causes like overt racism.. but this is just stupid.

I'm fine with protesting anything as long as A) It never becomes violent, B) Obeys law enforcement/administrators, C) Doesn't inconvenience random people.

If those 3 things are met, you can protest anything. These people were trying to violate B/C of the above list and thankfully they complied. You can still get your message across without being a sack of shit.

Why don't they just shut the fuck up and focus on their studies?

My guess is these kids are not majoring in anything difficult. A lot of the people who signed their demand petition are from the schools of Humanities, social science, English, etc. There were a few kids from Moritz Law but that's a tier 2 law school at best.

The day the engineers are out there protesting is the day I start caring.

Nice way of putting it. Have to spread reps to get back to you.

LOL - your post made me flashback to a Doonesbury strip, probably sometime in the mid-1970's. Mark Slackmeyer is speaking thru a bullhorn and is trying to organize protest with rookie students, and they're extremely un-coordinated and keep knocking each other over. A stone-faced cop is standing next to Mark, observing quietly. I can't remember exactly, but the cop said something like, "Not like the old days with you and me, is it? You guys would have been organized, and we would have had to hit you with the billy clubs to to break you up. The kids today aren't as committed as you were", and Mark agrees.

Ah, protesting based on the monumentally stupid concept that because you pay to attend a university, you deserve to be considered an equal partner in all of said university's doings and deserve to be able to disrupt proceedings because they make decisions you aren't personally on board with.

Good luck in the real world with that philosophy. I'm sure that down the road, their corporate bosses will be more than pleased to receive that inevitable email stating how you feel you're underpaid and demand access to all the company's financial records, as well as a company accountant to explain what everything means on the spreadsheets.

lol, trust me from engineering undergrad and grad school. We didn't have time to know what the university or other students were doing.

I literally spent every minute possible between classes doing homework/studying.

When 1 homework problem takes about an hour of work (not sitting staring, an hour of math/equations) and you have about 5 problems to do (x6 classes) you will do homework whenever you can.

Matter of fact, whenever I took a gen ed class (humanities, logic, sociology, etc) I always sat in class and did my engineering/math homework during the class. Other major'd students in the class were dumbfounded how us engineering students could pay zero attention in "Intro to Logic" and get a 100 on every test. A few of them would say things like "this is my hardest class!". It was the easiest one we had in years.

lol, sounds like some people must not have been college material. I took an Intro to Logic class and the only hard thing about it was that it was 8 a.m. during winter quarter. A real bitch dragging myself out of bed 4 days a week to attend it.

Oh I agree. Intro to Logic may have been the easiest class I had as an undergrad. I am racking my brain to remember an easier one.

I would have skipped it a lot if not for the fact that the prof actually counted attendence toward your grade.

I doubt it. The football team doesn't care about this shit and certainly Urban wouldn't put up with it.
