While I'm sure the food will be good, I'm sure it's just another hipster burger joint.

Plan B in preparation for when the Chipotle fad wears off and they are forced to close those restaurants.

Chipotle has been around for 20+ years. It's not a fad.

...never been to Better Burger and I've stayed away from Chipotle due to their issues. So if these two were the only places in town to eat, I'd probably try Better Burger.

Since I like Mexican style food, I've found a place that I like more than Chipotle,,,,Hot Heads.

I know a handful of people who still go to Chipotle at least once a week, and none of them have ever gotten sick.

I haven't eaten at Chipotle in months. They started getting really stingy with adding things to burritos so I decided it wasn't worth it.

I really don't care if the fail anymore.

Hot Heads is really good, but not so local for me. I haven't had any trouble with Chipotle's food, but I haven't been there as much recently since a friend told me about a drive-thru burrito joint a couple blocks from where he lives. That shit's the bomb -- more actual food, less rice/filler.

...My son will still hit up Chipotle but I started going to Hot Heads when all the shit started coming down about people getting sick eating there and haven't gone back. Hot Heads actually has a few more choices so that has become a better option for me.

There is this relatively new chain in DC called Cava. It basically the Mediterranean chipotle. They opened up a couple franchises in LA and NYC (Auto, get on it) recently. When I moved to DC nearly 4 years ago, there wasn't 1 Cava. Now they have 22 of them. My bold prediction is Cava eventually becomes as popular as Chipotle nationwide.

I went to Chipotle last night. I go at least once a month just because my wife loves it. I've never had a problem with them being stingy on anything nor have I ever gotten sick. Only thing I have noticed is it seems like the burritos have gotten smaller/thinner. The last 3-4 times I've went mine has burst when they were wrapping it.

That Cava Grill does look good. If they ever get into Nashville/Atlanta I will definitely have to go try it.

Oh ya, it's on my companies radar. A coworker just mentioned it recently.

I also remember hearing there was going to be an Italian/pasta chain opening that was similar to Chipotle (quick service line style).

Maybe this is it? Piada? I've never heard of it.

I never stopped eating at Chipotle. I probably go for lunch every other week. It's crazy how they have fallen off though. The one I frequent is near MSG, the line used to be insane during lunch time.

I eat Chipotle pretty frequently and have never had an issues. I get a steak bowl to go and fill it to the brim. Meat is the only thing they charge more for if you get extra, so I ask for extra of everything else. Then get a tortilla on the side and make my own burrito. You end up getting more ingredients than if they fill it up.

I wouldn't be shocked if it made it there in the near future. Apparently they raised over $50M for expansion plans. Cava originated from a regular sit down restaurant which is amazing as well, and the chef/owner decided to turn his concept into "fast casual" as a side business.

There is a Piada in my hometown in Ohio. I haven't gone, but I have not heard any good reviews on it.

If you go to Cava get either a salad or rice bowl (or mix them). Better bang for your buck than the pita. The closest Cava to my place is located right next to a Chipotle. Cava is the easy decision for me every time. When it first opened a lot more people went to Chipotle over Cava. I am not starting to notice that the lines are evening out.

I've had Piada twice and it was good both times. I don't love it, but I'd go again.

The selling point for me on Chipotle is sourcing of ingredients, using grass-fed meats, non-GMO fillers, etc. However, I usually get steak and went for lunch today. They had signs posted all over..."this store is using conventionally-raised beef due to a shortage." Blah. Pretty much bullshit. There's no shortage of quality beef available in this area of Ohio...

Yeah I just figured if it every makes it way south it will hit those places before it ever gets to Huntsville where I live. I mean Huntsville didn't have a Chipotle until just before I moved her 4 years ago.

I was going to tell you to check out Taziki's if you like Mediterranean but it looks like they are mostly just a southern chain. Closest location to DC is in Richmond, VA lol.

Piada is very good. The 2 times I've had it (Canton location). The pesto pasta is pretty damn good.

Fast Casual is the new wave of food.

I actually went to chipotle for the first time in months with a free coupon and they loaded it up like they did in the early 2000's.

My two new favorite places are both Greek/Mediterranean versions of Chipolte.

The first is Sababba. It's on East Broad Street in Columbus. The owner started Mezze is Gahanna and was number one on Yelp for a long time. Sababba is a better version of Mezze.

Brassica is the second place. It's owned by Northstar and its first location is on High Street in the Short North. It's really good and serves 4-5 local beers on tap as well.

Columbus us has had a ton of these types of places start here including Sababba, Mezze, Piada, Genji GO, Thurmans ToGo and Bibibop.

Cava sounds like pitapit which is pretty popular here in BG. I'm not sure where else there is a pitapit but I prefer it to Chipotle

I used to live a 3 minute walk from Blaze in Chicago. Needless to say I had it quite a bit. Good stuff.
