Was super bummed he wasn't in it. Though granted Frazier might not have had the walk off win that he did.Ironman92;1803105 wrote:Giancarlo...damn I wish he wouldn't have gotten hurt right before the break last year.
Stanton is just hitting fucking bombs though.

Lol that graphics of the longest homeruns... all Stanton. He makes me glad to be a Marlins fan.

Caught about 3-5 minutes of the final and saw him starting to deposit bombs so I turned back to the more rivoting NBA DLeague game that was on.

Hosmer and Perez both homer off former teammate Cueto in same inning. AL is up 4-2. Kluber with an inning of hittless ball with a K. Lindor should be leading off the next bottom of 5th.

AS game is in San Diego. Why is the NL batting in the tops of the innings?

They just alternate home team every year now. Been doing it since the game meant home field advantage.

Gwynn could flat our rake, no doubt! Too many players now don't care if they strike out or not. Not the same bad stigma as it used to be.

Yeah, Pirates couldn't do much of anything against him and when Liriano remembered it was 2016 and not 2013-15 in the sixth inning, it was over. Well, I guess Neftali didn't help, what with the 3-run dinger and all...Ironman92;1803383 wrote:Strasburg 13-0

Doc and Darryl...sad, but a good watch. They were the young studs when I first started watching.
Doc had 41 wins, 544 K, 11 shutouts, a CY and a 2nd place CY.....career stats at age 20

ESPN comparing Ortiz's final year at age 40 with Ted Williams and Dave Winfield at that age. Problem is this is Ortiz career high in slug%, OPS and OPS+....Winfield and Williams both had suspiciously great years at this age but both had 6 or 7 seasons of better slugging and OPS+
Ortiz was listed in the Mitchell report, didn't bust out until playing with Manny. Now his best season ever?
I don't believe he's clean for one minute. He's as likable as hell and Albert Belle could've been a HOF if he was loved like Papi. His season is fishy as hell and it's rarely even dared to be mentioned.

I agree. It's all about how he's 40 and this great personality that baseball will miss after this year. Nothing about how it might be a bit odd that a former roider might be a bit suspicious with how he's playing amazingly great at age 40. An inferior journeyman (a guy with the OC trifecta of having played for the Pirates, Reds and Indians recently) named Marlon Byrd got popped this year. It's absolutely stupid that a competent "old" guy gets busted, but no one questions the great "old" guy raking the fuck out of the ball in his retirement year. It really comes off as "Ortiz is a great story. Ortiz must not be ruined. No one look behind the curtain!"Ironman92;1803487 wrote:ESPN comparing Ortiz's final year at age 40 with Ted Williams and Dave Winfield at that age. Saw a bit of that. Gooden was my fav player and reason I always wore 16. A kid from our HS was selected in the third round by the mets in 84 so a lot of us kids started to follow them. He told me a few years later when seeing me with a Mets hat on that I didn't want to know what my "idols" were really like and of course a few years later it all comes out.Ironman92;1803401 wrote:Doc and Darryl...sad, but a good watch. Did have a hilarious story about Dykstra in ST though.....they knock on the window of some car he was in while Lenny was nailing some chick...he looks up and smiles and dip is all over his face just dripping all over her.....nasty!

Yankees have been wanting to deal Chapman to the cubs for Schwarber but the cubs are more interested in Miller and a prospect, or miller and chapman for SChwarber.
Time will tell....

My god....1 maybe, but both for a guy that can't play this year and is a terrible fielder. He is a bat and Yankees going nowhere.thavoice;1803543 wrote:Yankees have been wanting to deal Chapman to the cubs for Schwarber but the cubs are more interested in Miller and a prospect, or miller and chapman for SChwarber.

Ask high, settle for less I guess. Just what a scout I know was talking about the last week or so. Cubs are really wanting Miller and a prospect but would take Chapman and him for Schwarber. Miller is relatively cheap through 2018 and Chapman is a FA so they want something soon out of him. Apparently the Yankees really want Schwarber.Ironman92;1803544 wrote:My god....1 maybe, but both for a guy that can't play this year and is a terrible fielder. He is a bat and Yankees going nowhere.

The Yankees have plenty of guys to deal. They have the greatest bullpen in history but you aren't going to end up paying them 40-50M a year combined.
