Hard to understand. I'll guess he grew up poor on the island and has all the money he could ever want and all the other riches...and a couple WS rings (that he also obtained while fat)...but with age you can't keep that condition. Never affected the skill of Tony Gwynn but caused him missed games and easier injuries....ultimately more after his career.

Seems like the Reds threads got less and less participation last year. And with this year looking like a total dumpster fire, do we resort to just one "2016 Cincinnati Reds Regular Season" thread and do all of our bitching in there?
On a Reds note, MLBTradeRumors saying a 3 team deal that would send Bruce to Toronto, Michael Saunders heading to Anaheim, and the Reds getting prospects is in the works. Bruce had a no-trade clause for the Blue Jays, but took them off the list this offseason.

Orioles sign Dexter Fowler to a 3 year, $33 million contract.
Oh wait, Fowler stormed into Cubs camp with a WWE-esq entrance after signing a 1 year $8 million with a $9 million option for year 2 with Chicago.
Fowler has to be kicking himself though, he turned down the Cubs $15.8 million qualifying offer at the end of last season. Settled for almost half that to probably be a platoon outfielder.
Cubs are going all in. Not sure I like it, teams who do that seem to always underachieve.

Tough division, which doesn't help, but I think the Reds are going to be better than that. Good young pitching and while losing Frazier hurts the offense, it is still decent.Midstate01;1784169 wrote:So did the reds... they might lose 110 games.

I don't even know who the hell is on their damn team this year. Seems like every player outside Votto was traded in the offseason but then brought back for whatever reason.
Hell I thought BP was gone until I read that link from Ironman. Smh @ how far they've fallen since being a game away from defeating the eventual World Series champion Giants in '12.

Turned over and noticed Reds were on MLB Network and and on 1st pitch Reds batter drives a fly ball deep with 2 outs....LF muffs it and Phillips wasn't running with to out and had to stop at 3rd....going to be a great year

I was watching that when it happened last night. Woke up my son when I instinctively shouted "Holy fuck!" after it happened. I thought for sure he was going to be just like Chapman after that.
