Interesting, pretty much negates any smaller athletic Oline right? Good bye denver running games of the 90s, Texans running, etc..... if it happens.

Alfred Morris is signing with Dallas. If he as anything left, he could be a really good addition to McFadden.

It's funny how people talk about Alfred Morris like he's old. He just turned 27 haha.

Yeah, but he has declined every year in the league. Hopefully Dallas can be a breath of fresh air.Azubuike24;1788467 wrote:It's funny how people talk about Alfred Morris like he's old. He just turned 27 haha.

27 is old for a RB.Azubuike24;1788467 wrote:It's funny how people talk about Alfred Morris like he's old. He just turned 27 haha.

I'm just saying, there's a perception that Morris is some veteran RB. Not a bad signing for Dallas.

What the Hell do championships have to do with whether he's a decent pickup or not?

I'm saying he's basically a non-factor. He doesn't help or hurt; he's not notable.BR1986FB;1788486 wrote:Wut? LOL

As a Cowboys fan I like it. Hopefully it also means they won't draft one in the first 3-4 rounds.

The touchback rule has passed. Coming out to 25 instead of 20. Interesting... And stupid imo

Not really stupid. It's just a slow and backwards way for the NFL to eliminate the kickoff. Just taking it away is too big of a change, but they are slowly making it an irrelevant play. Due to the onside kick, I don't think you could just eliminate it. However, I do think there should be an option just to waive your kickoff and give the other team the ball. Hell, just running down the field at a full sprint to coverage a potential return can lead to injury.

Furthermore, the PR aspect of this would hurt the NFL too. Who covers kicks, for the most part? The lowest-paid, irrelevant players on an NFL roster. Who are the most likely to make waves about CTE risks and safety? The lowest-paid, irrelevant players on an NFL roster. Your superstar players are likely to comment less because they are getting paid millions to assume this risk.

This was a smart pickup. The guy's a team player, not a head case and very humble. Type of player you'd want on your team.Iliketurtles;1788502 wrote:As a Cowboys fan I like it. Hopefully it also means they won't draft one in the first 3-4 rounds.

This is actually the solution. No team is going to try and actually return the ball these days.Azubuike24;1788552 wrote:Not really stupid. Or not, as this column cites logic saying that if touchbacks move the ball out to the 25 instead of the 20, that gives teams more incentive to not boom the ball out of the end zone to try to force them to have to return it.

The Bengals do this on purpose. Strategically try to kick the ball to be caught right on the goal line and hope their coverage team can cut the returner down before the 20. It makes sense.

How's that worked for the college game? Touchbacks are the norm and you rarely see a team try to return the ball.Heretic;1788565 wrote:http://deadspin.com/new-touchback-rule-designed-to-reduce-number-of-kickoff-1766603355

I agree with this. Feel like you're going to see a lot more kickers try and get as much height as possible and shorten it, to get down the field.Heretic;1788565 wrote:http://deadspin.com/new-touchback-rule-designed-to-reduce-number-of-kickoff-1766603355
