so... contrary to popular belief on this site (and the right..which is pretty much one in the same), the middle class isn't getting hammered by Bernie. 70% of Americans save money under his plan.

US corprations are not going to pay for Bernies programs. Rich people are not going to pay tax rates on income at the rate it will have to be to support a nanny state for 250 million people.

Corporations will leave the country faster than ever, rich people and banks will lock down money offshore. THe $ will not "trickle down", it will "trickle away".

Rich will stay rich and the poor will be alot poorer.

The "scared of big business" mantra doesn't work anymore. We saw the false threats last election from Koch brother et al saying how everyone was getting laid off if Obama was re-elected. Businesses are going to do what they're going to do regardless of politics.

Are you kidding me? Do you have a short memory? THe last 8 years in the employment world has been a nightmare. Less full time jobs, stagnant pay, part time hours etc....... Bernis plan will double down on the unemployment rate

Free healthcare will kill the initiative to work. There will be 120 million people not even looking for a job.

Do you not realize there's been a global recession since 2008 which has nothing to do with politics?

I think there is more to this than what is typed in the article. I also think many would pay way more than the fair share.

Not including payroll taxes is criminally deceptive as their burden nearly entirely falls on workers. Payroll tax of 6.2 percent is not exactly trivial

... if you make more than $250,000 a year. Which in most areas you're no longer in the middle class.

You cannot build up the poor by tearing down the rich. If you don't know that, then please stop right now; the nonsense is wasting a lot of cyberspace.

You're not tearing down the rich, drama queen. You're having them pay an effective rate the same as everyone else. Quit with your bullshit.

So punish someone who is successful to take more than they should pay so others don't pay the fair share that they should? That is the theory and you need to look as someone that makes 200K plus and see how much they are taxed now. It is sick!

This thread has gone exactly how I thought.

1) zwick being a complete dick to anyone who disagrees with him.

2) zwick spins this aggressive tax plan to be good for all but the rich, because, you know, they're rich! Why should we not tax them more?

3) zwick making personal attacks because they don't agree with him.

Carry on!

You probably also love government assistance/entitlements because why the hell should someone have to work for what they get...Right?

4) S&L chimes in with something useless and unrelated to the thread

Here's the actual reality of Bernie's plan. The tax increases won't come anywhere near the revenue needed to cover all these entitlement programs so they US will continue to rapidly produce unsustainable deficits that we will ultimately pass down to the next generation.

Now cue BS to tell us that US debt doesn't matter because its in our own currency and there are no downsides to having trillions of dollars of debt as long as its in USD.

I also wanted to add that when the deficits ultimately get much bigger, Bernie and the trash will blame the rich again for "not paying their fair share" and the beat will go on.
