They just don't need any more holes on the O-Line. They have JT & Bitonio locked up. Mack & Schwartz can bolt. One of their top priorities needs to be re-signing Schwartz. For all of the crap he took early on in his career, Schwartz has turned out to be a pretty good RT. I still think they need a mauler type RG. Hopefully Mack decides to stay.HitsRus;1779198 wrote:yep.....hard to replace a pro bowl center.

If Mack dies stay, was Erving a waste of a pick then? He wasn't doing s thing at guard this year. I hope they re-sign Schwartz, he's a good Twitter follow as well. Very knowledgeable

I'd feel better if he said "we" instead of "they" when referring to the Browns.BR1986FB;1779194 wrote:Hopefully a positive sign?

I am completely alright with whoever we decide to take at #2 if it is a QB. Both seem like high moral guys, who work hard and WANT to be better. My concern is at #34, round 2.....we lead the league in receivers under 6 feet tall.....you have to give whoever you are giving the rock to, a chance. Watching (yes I know the joke) the Pro Bowl, in our division we have a guy who can make catches on throws a QB "shouldnt have made" in AJ Green, we need a prolific receiver, over the 6'2 mark, to throw those balls to. Just my opinion, we draft yet ANOTHER offensive lineman, with that pick, I blow my top, we have a stable if we keep everyone healthy.

We do have Gordon back (or at least we should). But I agree they need to grab taller receivers. I'd like to see that second pick on the defensive side but wouldn't be mad if they went wr.Go4alOngbOmB;1779367 wrote:I am completely alright with whoever we decide to take at #2 if it is a QB. I'm ok with either WR or best available player on the defensive side.SportsAndLady;1779384 wrote:We do have Gordon back (or at least we should). But I agree they need to grab taller receivers. I'd like to see that second pick on the defensive side but wouldn't be mad if they went wr.

Heard Dane Brugler (CBS Sports) who is supposed to be a draft "guru" said good gets for the Browns would be QB at 2, whoever they like (he has Goff rated as the 4th best player in the draft, Wentz #11), and either Michael Thomas (OSU) with that 2nd pick or a D-Lineman because this draft is supposed to be deep at that position and one could fall. Would love to see Zeke fall to the Browns 2nd pick but he's projected top 10.like_that;1779388 wrote:I'm ok with either WR or best available player on the defensive side.
Interesting to note, Brugler has Braxton Miller going to the Bengals with their first rounder. I believe both Marvin Jones & Sanu are FA's so they could be Hue Jackson targets in FA, should they want to go that route. I'd rather have Jones if they decide to do that.

Brugler also called Wentz a "suped up, more athletic version of Alex Smith with a skillset closer to Derek Carr."
He also said that Goff didn't have the big arm, size or athleticism of Wentz but had a big advantage over the rest of the QB's with what he had "between the ears." Said he was very good at reads.
Also said every one of these QB's would benefit from "sitting & learning" although he said Goff should only need a couple of weeks before he'd be ready to be thrown into the fire.

Not trying to shoot the messenger here, but give me a break Brugler. If you draft a QB with the #2 pick, they play. END OF DISCUSSION.BR1986FB;1779436 wrote:Brugler also called Wentz a "suped up, more athletic version of Alex Smith with a skillset closer to Derek Carr."

Statement regarding Johnny."We've been clear about expectations for our players on and off the field. Johnny's continual involvement in incidents that run counter to those expectations undermines the hard work of his teammates and the reputation of our organization. His status with our team will be addressed when permitted by league rules. We will have no further comment at this time."

I wonder more details will come out from this incident in DFW. The reasoning for needing a fucking helicopter!?

I've been saying Manziel is a bust before he was even drafted.
I said the same thing about Weeden and the same thing about Quinn.
I haven't looked too much at the QB class this year but I expect everyone to blindly follow whatever declaration I make as fact.

I was under the impression the helicopter search was because his girlfriend said she thought he might be a danger to himself. Seems a bit crazy but his whole life is crazy.Automatik;1779478 wrote:I wonder more details will come out from this incident in DFW. The reasoning for needing a fucking helicopter!?

Just a matter of time before he's out of the league and on "Big Brother" or "Celebrity Rehab."

ESPN reporting Manziel done in Cleveland. Will be released or traded in March once salary cap goes up.

I've made my share of QB mistakes (too long on the Weeden Wagon') but you also kept harping on the Browns bringing in Troy Smith, so it's not all sunshine & ponies.sleeper;1779481 wrote: I haven't looked too much at the QB class this year but I expect everyone to blindly follow whatever declaration I make as fact.

Troy Smith probably has more NFL wins than all of them. Remember, T.Smith was slated to play the season Flacco was a rookie but got sick in training camp. Given how Flacco was carried to a few super bowls by a great defense, T. Smith had a chance at minimum to win the largest contract in the NFL + a few super bowl MVPs.BR1986FB;1779514 wrote:I've made my share of QB mistakes (too long on the Weeden Wagon') but you also kept harping on the Browns bringing in Troy Smith, so it's not all sunshine & ponies.

Yet he never made a peep in the league after that...."largest contract in the NFL + a few Super Bowl MVP's?" As usual, ridiculously over the top.sleeper;1779516 wrote:Troy Smith probably has more NFL wins than all of them.
