Well that is better than I was expecting. Hopefully in his first press conference he says verbatim "I'm excited for this opportunity to coach the Browns. My first step is to cut the worst QB in the NFL, JFF, and get a QB in here that can actually play football. I wish JFF the best selling cars in Texas."

I like the hire. Sounds like he will have quite a bit of personnel control too. Offense will be in good hands with Hue, and maybe Flip if he stays. Hopefully he can get a DC that can bring us back from the O'Neill era of regression.

My preseason predictions had 1) Pettine & Farmer getting fired, 2) a 3-13 record and 3) Alex Mack bolting in free agency. With this hire, I'm not so sure Mack will leave.

I don't think he's going to want to go either but it may not be up to him. I get the feeling this team is going to get pretty young, pretty fast.sleeper;1775340 wrote:What about JT?

JT may be kept around if the plan is to draft Goff.
Can't re-enact the Couch years where a rookie QB takes a huge beating behind a porous line.

This is good news. Hopefully we won't have to hear you bitch and moan all season about our HC.IggyPride00;1775341 wrote:Praise be to God.

How much roster control is he going to have?

I got close to my wish then. That's the smartest decision the Browns have ever made.BR1986FB;1775351 wrote:Yep...sounds like they will just release Manziel

Unless someone offers something insane, I hope they keep JT. He's 31, but many top tackles play well into their 30's.BR1986FB;1775342 wrote:I don't think he's going to want to go either but it may not be up to him. I get the feeling this team is going to get pretty young, pretty fast.

And you'll probably get your QB at #2 so you can stop bitching about that.SportsAndLady;1775352 wrote:This is good news. Hopefully we won't have to hear you bitch and moan all season about our HC.

Like I said, may not be his decision. Sashi Brown has been wanting to move him for 2 years now but I don't think they could get nearly what they'd want for him on the trade market. With a new QB, probably best to keep him.Al Bundy;1775358 wrote:Unless someone offers something insane, I hope they keep JT. He's 31, but many top tackles play well into their 30's.

I'd be fine with Kaepernick's year-by-year "prove it" contract if we don't think there is a franchise QB worth taking at #2.

I guess I will play the role of Iqqy. I don't get the hype with hue. He didn't do anything special and should we be excited with him having roster control? He is the same guy who pushed the raiders to trade a first and second for a Carson Palmer who was sitting on his ass 6 weeks into the NFL season.

Hue Jackson as a coach is a great hire. Hue Jackson is making all the player decisions could backfire.

Also spent a 3rd rounder on Pryor in the supplemental draft.like_that;1775366 wrote:I guess I will play the role of Iqqy. I don't get the hype with hue. Carson has arguably been of the top 3 qbs in the league since going to Arizona. Not like Carson has been a bum. Not going to knock a guy trying to get his qb since what he had was complete shit. Not too mention his first head coaching gig.like_that;1775366 wrote:I guess I will play the role of Iqqy. I don't get the hype with hue. Personally love the hire. So glad we didn't get some bullshit coordinator trying to make a name. It's a real get that the players have respect for. Not derpmur or Chud the dud.
I'll be there for the opener that's for damn sure.

4 (or is it 5) years later. Congrats! That's was a dumbass trade and no other way around it. Even worse considering how cincy has benefited from it.DeyDurkie5;1775374 wrote:Carson has arguably been of the top 3 qbs in the league since going to Arizona. Not like Carson has been a bum.
