Lose and we get the #1 seed.
Win, and we beat pittsburgh's backups.
I'm all about winning even if it means a lower draft pick. But there's absolutely no pride in beating another team when their good players aren't playing.

Twitter is going nuts this morning that apparently Myles Garrett doesn't want to play in the cold. BooHoo, too fucking bad.

Meanwhile, Matt Cassel is rotting in purgatory remembering the good ol' days when NE got him to where he was worth something for a brief period.Benny The Jet;1830133 wrote:Patriots reportedly asking for a 1st and 4th for Garappolo

I'd give a 2nd and maybe a 5th rounder that would be it. No way would I give up a first rounder for himBenny The Jet;1830133 wrote:Patriots reportedly asking for a 1st and 4th for Garappolo

No one is "sold", but he's better than anyone coming out and has learned under the best qb there is. I'd give a 2nd rounder all day. Dustin Fox said an NFL exec told him that Garrapolo would be best qb browns have had since the return.

Just because he's learned under Brady doesn't make him a good QB.iclfan2;1830146 wrote:No one is "sold", but he's better than anyone coming out and has learned under the best qb there is. High end Matt Cassel IMO. If I could get Romo for less I'd gamble that way.

The Browns have the room and it likely wouldnt kill them to land him. Even if they strike gold with their 2017 picks, they will be on their rookie salaries for the full time Romo would be still under contract if he indeed would stick around there for the three full years.

I didn't say because he learned under Brady he's good. It's an added bonus. You do realize that he was drafted in the 2nd round and Cassel was drafted in the 7th? Garappolo was much more touted out of college with comparisons to Tony Romo. Romo wouldn't make as much sense to me to give up a lot because he's nearing the end of his career and the Browns aren't nearing a time when they will be playoff competitive.Ironman92;1830147 wrote:High end Matt Cassel IMO. No one know how good Garapollo will be. But a) what we've seen in limited action has been very good b) from everything people say about him, is very good and c) he was a highly ranked recruit who the patriots snagged up and sat him waiting for their first round offer for him. The Browns have an extra first, why not take the chance on him?

I tend to lean this way. As long as the pick is the Eagles obviouslySportsAndLady;1830152 wrote:This.

If I am a gm my rule of thumb is to never accept a trade from the patriots. Patriots trade rape everyone. They know how to evaluate talent. If they thought he was special they wouldn't let him go. They have done this already with 2 overhyped backup QBs (mallet and cassel). At least cassel had a full season's worth of game tape. Jimmy is nowhere near a first round pick. I'd give a 3rd and that's it.
