FW keeps bringing up Joe Namath, Mantle, etc. The difference between them and JFF is that they were impact players who performed. Namath helped change the game and was a star right out of the gate. His numbers pail by today's comparisons but he was pretty damn solid for a rookie in 1965.
This is Manziel's first year of actually playing. Compare Manziel's 88.4 QB rating versus the "franchise quarterbacks..and then tell me who and who can't play. Umkay?
Carr...76.6
Bridgewater...65.2
Winston....85.6
only Mariota has better first year numbers.
And....as I pointed out above, Manziel has done it without a line, without a running game...AND he did it playing 3 playoff teams on the road. Not to mention the 3 touchdown passes dropped in the Steeler game and the one dropped touchdown pass in the Bengal game. Catch those balls and where would his rating be?
I get it. You don't think he can play. You are wrong. Move along. You and your contingency can continue your crusade of chasing the franchise quarterback out of town.
